Beautiful Early Big Rare Antique Staffordshire Spaniel Dog’s

Beautiful Early Big Antique Staffordshire Dog’s. 12″&1/2 Inches tall and 9″&1/2 inches across bottom. Each One weights in at over 4 pounds. Beautiful Early Big Rare Antique Staffordshire Dog’s. Beautiful Early Big Rare Antique Staffordshire Spaniel Dog’s. Each One weights in at over 4 pounds(See photo’s of them on scale). These show all the obvious signs that they are real. Typical old base does not have casting holes. Note typical flaws such as firing lines, glaze frizzle, bumps and pitting(Shown in Photo’s with green arrow as you will see a bump and un-glazed spot on back tail on one) 3. Paint from the sides has dripped down over the edges of the base like on these you will see. Shows fine brush strokes on the muzzle and two dog’s are never painted the same like these two. Firing holes were made to release expanding gas which builds up inside hollow figures during firing. Typical firing holes average about one-eighth inch in diameter. Firing holes may or may not be present in original dogs. They may appear in the base or other locations such as the back 6. Most gold trim used on original dogs has a softer appearance than new gold trim & rarely has a mirror-like reflection, it is usually dull and almost always shows some random wear. Most gold trim used on original dogs has a softer appearance than new gold trim. Crazing in new glazes is often darkened with shoe polish, dark paint or vegetable stains either at the place of manufacture or after a piece has entered the market. Although many old pieces do show crazing, crazing is not in itself any guarantee or an indicator of when, where or how a piece of pottery was made, you’ll see that the old glaze/and crazing these dogs remain consistent from the underneath of the base through the body and face. The One to the right has some damage-either from it’s age or it took a bump at some point it’s very long life. The good news is-it looks to have never come apart into pieces-it’s tight and this area and not at all loose or coming apart. If you look at the detailed photo’s at the bottom with “small stick on green arrows” you will see where the damage suddenly stops. This is the only area of damage to both dogs. RARE EARLY GAE AULENTI PIPISTRELLO LAMP for MARTINELLI LUCE, ITALY 1965
Posted by admin On January 12, 2019
For sale a rare, early example of a Mid-Century Modernist classic, the “Pipistrello” Lamp designed by Gae Aulenti in 1965 for Martinelli Luce of Italy. This large seminal Space Age lamp has a telescopic neck that allows for it to be used as either a table lamp or a floor lamp. “Pipistrello”, meaning Bat in Italian, derives it’s name from the iconically distinctive bat-wing shape of the shade. This example was sourced from it’s original owners and dates back to the early 1970s. The lamp is in very good vintage condition and has some marks and scratches, mainly to the lower brown trunk, commensurate with 45+ years of age and use but absolutely nothing to detract. The only issue of note is that the shade, which is seemingly in fabulous condition has got burn marks to the insides of the shade crevices, caused by having had it’s shade miss-mounted at some point in it’s history, and with one having burnt a hole through the shade. This is only noticeable if you look directly into the crevice (see photos) and faces the back of the lamp, however replacement shades can be ordered from Martinelli Luce, if need be. Approx measurements Max H: 90cm / Min H: 70cm / D of Shade: 54cm / D of base: 33cm. Due to the size, this is for collection only, from London N7 8NS (Islington). Rare 17th 18th Century C Wrought Iron Lighting Cresset Early Lighting Antique
Posted by admin On January 11, 2019
Rare 17th 18th Century C Wrought Iron Lighting Cresset Early Lighting Antique. A rare piece of early lighting illustrated in numerous reference books on lighting and early wrought iron. Dating From the Mid 17th to Mid 18th Century, this is a lovely representation of early lighting in great original form and presentation. The cresset served as a platform for which to place dried pine knots or oil soaked material to be burned for illumination. All hand wrought, blacksmith made with nice attention to detail including four’rams horn’ designs featured on four areas of the piece. Measures 5 1/2″ in diameter, length of the spike is 7 1/2″. Spike would have been affixed to a holder on the outside or interior of a home, business of tavern. There is some expected rust from age as well as the residue from centuries old soot and mortar. This piece was never cleaned and is in rare untouched original condition. Would make an excellent addition to any lighting collection or period home. 1940s Hadrill Horstmann Floor Standing Counterweight Lamp Rare Early Prototype
Posted by admin On January 9, 2019
Extremely rare Hadrill Horstmann counterweight lamp. I know of only one other in existence which is in a private collection. This lamp predates the’Roller’ design with a large suspended weight. The weight is sprung on its shaft. I believe it was a prototype which was superceded by the roller. Interestingly the limbs are not stamped with branding. I think at this stage decal labels were used but would have been on magnifier cover. No repainting on top half it’s all completely original scuffs and all. Though actually it’s in remarkably good condition for its age (1940s). It has been disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and polished. Every but and washer is present and original including all the knurled nuts. Corners of shade have small bolted reinforcements. Very subtle but may not be original. Stand has been repainted. It connects to lamp via a solid steel shaft which protrudes about 4 inches from base and exactly fits the middle tube. Side brackets can be adjusted. There are four independent parts so the current arrangement is just how I thought they looked tidy. Not sure how these were originally used. All rewired with new braided flex. Vintage bulb holder which is properly earthed and is switched. I’ll do my best to wrap her up but I can’t box it. My estimate is it weighs around 20 kilos. I’ll deliver within 30 miles free of charge. The item “1940s Hadrill Horstmann Floor Standing Counterweight Lamp Rare Early Prototype” is in sale since Sunday, January 6, 2019. This item is in the category “Antiques\Antique Furniture\Lamps\20th Century”. The seller is “captain_kipper” and is located in Sheffield. This item can’t be shipped, the buyer must pick up the item.

Gracie FURRY Rare Early English 1910/20s OMEGA Teddy Bear – Hump Old Antique. I honestly adore this bear! If you love very old English teds who are very furry with lots of beautiful features including painted back glass eyes and hump then you’ll love Gracie! Gracie dates to 1910-20s and was made by Omega! She stands around 21inches tall from her ear tip to toe, is fully jointed, and well stuffed with woodwool! Omega bears are quite rare, which is why Gracie is so special as she’s in wonderful condition with hardly any wear except a little light gentle darning above her original nose stitching! She is covered in bountiful soft blonde mohair, has a fantastic hump, original pads in excellent condition (other than one handpaw which displays the pretty underpad material). She has card lined feet, stitched facial features and beautiful original shiny painted back glass eyes. Gracie is dressed in an antique cotton lace dress with ribbon bracelet and feels so wonderful to hold, she’s one of my favourite bears! I have confidence in saying she will quickly become a firm favourite in your hug, and she’s looking forward to making happy memories in her new home.. Please note the photographs form part of the description so please study them carefully. Any questions please message me :. Please note this is a vintage toy that is not intended for small children.
