For sale here is an original vintage roll down school chart of. JELLYFISH – JUNG, KOCH, QUENTELL. Produced by Frommann & Morian and Hagemann in Dusseldorf, Germany in the 1920’s or 30’s this is one of the first versions of this chart and is a collectors piece. This beautifully illustrated chart shows jellyfish. Width (including poles):93cm/36. (without poles 85cm x 106cm). Printed on paper, it is backed with canvas and has black wooden poles top and bottom. This chart has spent most of its life rolled up in a school cupboard so the colours are still bright. The condition of this chart is good, some creases and signs of wear across the chart with some creases slightly heavier than others but that is to be expected in something that is 80 + years old. These old charts were produced as educational tools for schools and colleges by. Teacher Heinrich Jung, artist and biologist Gottlieb von Koch and. College director, Doctor Friedrich Quentell. The dark background acts as a chalk board which allowed teachers. To annotate them during the lesson. First published by Frommann and Morian in the early 1900’s Hagemann became involved in the production around 1928 first in conjunction with Frommann and Morian then on their own from around 1963. You can find modern reprints of these charts from many online sellers but they lack the atmosphere and history of the vintage ones. All of our charts are sourced from schools and antique markets across Europe. We have many other charts and maps for sale so be sure to check our shop. Thank you for looking. Rare Tall African Islamic Teaching Board – TANZANIA – Early to Mid 20th Century. Another African artifact from my personal collection. Tall and unusual example of a teaching board from Zanzibar, off the coast of Tanzania. The population in this area is 99% Islamic. I have never seen one with the abstract design of the head at the top and legs depicted at the bottom. Nice patina and wear from use. Probably used by a teacher, due to size. Custom black painted steel stand holds piece firmly upright. Last photo shows a similar, newer example in the British Museum. Not a tourist piece, but a genuine African artifact. 48 Inches tall 6 Inches Wide Custom Stand 7 x 7 Inches. RARE EARLY-MID 19TH CENTURY AME RI CAN ANTIQUE TREENWARE, LATHE-TURNED SPOOL. THREAD HOLDER, W/WHITE CORD. Antique early-mid 19th c American treenware. 5 ½” Height x 4 ½” Diameter (widest point/ top). There’s an old drying fracture of the maple hardwood on the top, turned edge of the lid of the early to mid 19th century antique maple treenware thread spool holder. This was not the result of a concussion due to a previous drop, but more likely the result of drying of the wood over time, since the piece is nearly 200 years in age. This is an early piece of Americana and early American utilitarian, decorative treenware and its condition is commensurate with its age and previous use. This was not a purely decorative object that was put on a shelf and admired. Rather it would have been used and often used, since textiles were produced in the home and repairs were most certainly produced in the home. This is a rather early piece of American antique treenware and it has recognizable, characteristic fine, lathe-turned detailed lines. The maple hardwood is a wood often used by cabinet makers in 18th and early 19th century America and particularly in New England, where maple was tough and durable and would have withstood repeated abuse. It remains untouched and featuring original rubbed, naturally aged surfaces and patina. It has not been dusted or oiled. It remains in absolutely the same antique condition it was originally constituted in. A remarkable early New England cultural artifact and a splendid piece of early Americana. Good to Very Good overall antique condition. The item “RARE EARLY-MID 19TH C AMERICAN ANTIQUE TREENWARE TURNED SPOOL THREAD HOLDER” is in sale since Monday, October 21, 2019. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”. The seller is “modsanctuary” and is located in Milford, New Hampshire. This item can be shipped worldwide.
Includes original (or at least, very old) Bryant paddle-switch sockets with the complementary shade holders. A very handsome piece that I restored for my 1904 apartment, but other projects demand that room be made so I wish to pass it along to another collector. It’s somewhat unusual in style for this era, having a body shape suggestive of Williamsburg chandeliers, and speaking to the neo-Colonial sensibilities in the decorative art of its period. The laurel wreath motifs that decorate the lowest portion of the body enhance the effect. Included is a pair of frosted milk glass shades with a ribbed urn motif. In generally good shape minus one damaged shade holder. The holder still does its job, but all the damaged parts will be included in case you’re handy with soldering and feel confident in making the repair. Newer wiring and modern steel hanging equipment allow it to be easily attached to any ceiling junction box. With some assembly it could be ready to hang the same day it arrives. Please do correspond with any questions. Thanks for your interest. The item “Rare Brass Early Electric Ceiling Fixture Victorian Colonial Restored” is in sale since Friday, July 26, 2019.
