Rare Royal Doulton Seriesware Antique Miniature/Tiny Jug – Welsh Ladies. Scenes/Titles: Girl running to seated woman / Woman with hand on hip, another nearby. Series Issued: 1906, extended 1911 and 1938 and withdrawn during WW2 This piece can be dated to pre 1922. Height: 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm), Width: (including handle) 1 5/8 inches (4.1 cm), Base Diameter: 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) approx. Excellent Condition Assured – No cracks, chips, scratches, restoration or any other kind of damage. Some very fine, clean, micro crazing evident, detected under magnification, barely noticeable to the naked eye, see pics. The white areas towards the top of the handle are paint miss and NOT paint loss as they appear to be under glaze. Neither observation detracts from this rare piece and are mentioned for complete accuracy. Any white areas in my photographs are purely light reflection. Will be sent very safely packaged, as always. A Rare Very Early Antique Noritake Twin Handled Lidded Floral Pastel Vase c1902. A beautiful and very rare, early Noritake twin-handled, lidded floral vase bearing the single blue Noritake Komura mark to the base, dating the vase to >1902. The vase is of a beautiful four-footed pedestal form with twin open-top handles and lid with pointed finial. The vase is intricately hand-decorated with pink, purple and yellow blossoms with foliage and beautiful gilt beading and scrollwork on a white and turquoise ground. A really wonderful, early collector’s item. The vase is in quite remarkable condition with no chips or cracks to the body even the handles are good! But there is a little rubbing to the gilt around the topmost rim. The lid has been broken but professionally restored with the damage almost invisible to the outward facing area. A really good piece of restoration. Please see photographs for more information. The vase is 33cm high (including lid), 14cm diameter, 1063g weight. A very Rare Original Wade figurine of a Panther on a rock by Faust Lang, made in 1939. Fully backstamped underneath wade 1939 and impressed Faust Lang on the back, measurement: 230 mm / 9 inches tall, 153 mm / 6 inches length. This figurine has been professionally repaired on his neck which is not noticeable when on display and has crazing due to age. Rare Antique African Yaka Mbwoolo Fetish Figure Congo Early to Mid 20th Century. This is an extremely rare African Yaka Mbwoolo Fetish Figure on wood stand that is painted black. It is possible that it is 19th century, but I cannot be sure. What makes this figure so rare is that the fiber and resin and colored earth are in very good condition. Most of the fetish figures that you find do not have the pouch(bonga-magic) with the power ingredients intact. These figures were used among the Yaka tribe of Zaire to support or contain special concoctions or powers. When charged with these ingredients, they become medicines-poisons that “make ill” through an invisible (supernatural) influence – or “make well” by removing this influence. Owned by specific lineages rather than individuals. The man or woman who becomes cured is entitled to become its ritual officer or nganga (‘doctor’). Mbwoolo figures are passed on from generation to generation. Provenance: Collection of Dr. Dennis Bettancourt, Los Angeles, CA. I will sell this item with these documents. A Rare & Beautiful Early 20th Century Fall Front Bureau made from the very rare and much prized Ocotea Bullata (Stinkwood). This highly sort after and much prized wood by cabinet makers produces a extremely fine and smooth grain. This timber is no longer available commercially and is now a protected tree in South Africa. The evergreen tree which grows up-to 30 meters tall is indigenous to the high forests of South Africa. The beautiful panelled fall front cover lifts to reveal a fitted interior of miniature drawers, pigeon holes and a writing surface. The base fitted with two shaped drawers with brass plate handles and escutcheons. All raised upon cabriole legs with ball and claw feet. Made to wonderful proportions it will stand proud in any room. Offered for sale is this stunning find. In its completely original untouched as found condition. Made of wood, which was ebonised and which still remains. Original tapetry top which look like it was some sort of velvet? Which has now worn and become threadbare in place as shown with use over many many years. No idea of the exact age of this beautiful old prayer stool, but I have spoken to a couple of experts and they said that they would date c 1800. It has wooden dowels to 2 sides instead of screws and the other side has two screws which must have been replaced sometime later. I looked up some information about dowels/pegs being used in furniture and it advised that Antique furniture construction, up to teh early 1700s was mainly built using pegged construction, but I will leave it to you experts out there to decide and inform. Measuring approx 12″ inches wide by 8.5/9″ tall by 8 deep. Please look carefully at photos as this forms part of the overall description. I have tried to take accurate photos that show the box as true as possible- please bare in mind that screen settings and different devices may show differently. LOVELY, RARE EARLY St. IVES TANKARD for LEACH POTTERY. THIS IS A LOVELY TANKARD MADE AT THE LEACH FACTORY St. IVES CORNWALL IN, PROBABLY, THE 1920’s (EVEN INTO THE EARLY 30’s). IT IS DEPICTED IN A STANDARD TANKARD FORM WITH A LOVELY GREEN CELADON GLAZE AND A FINE SCROLLING HANDLE WITH THUMB PIECE. THE BASE OF THE HANDLE IS IMPRESSED WITH THE St. IVES POTTERY MARK – SEE PHOTOGRAPHS AND DETAILS. IT MEASURES 5″ (12.5cm) H x 5″ (12.5cm) W LIP TO HANDLE APPROX; AND IS IN GOOD TO FAIR CONDITION WITH A LONG HAIRLINE FROM THE RIM INTO THE BASE TO ONE SIDE, ONE ABOUT A QUARTER OF THE HEIGHT TO THE OTHER SIDE, AND SEVERAL SMALL CHIPS TO THE RIM. THIS IS A RARE, PERIOD LEACH POTTERY WHICH WITH A LOW START PRICE SHOULD GET QUITE A LOT OF INTEREST FROM ALL COLLECTORS. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS SALE.
