Rare KPM Berlin Porcelain Art Deco Couple Kiss Figurine Figure Porzellan Figur. This product data sheet is originally written in English. A very rare figurine very much in the Art Deco style of the period made by KPM during the Art Deco era. It is of a couple embraced in a passionate kiss standing with a baby in between them on top of a column on a rectangular base. Left in the white it makes quite the impression! One rarely sees pieces in this style by them. The figure is 13.25 inches tall with the base being 3 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep. The figurine is marked underneath with their under glaze blue scepter mark as well as various impressed numbers, etc. The artist name G. Wied is impressed into the base in the back as shown. The piece is in superb condition with a black kiln dust spot to the back and two firing cracks in the base inside which do not affect the piece at all! Rare Albert Solon Carved Tile – S&S San Jose California – Arts & Crafts 1920’s. Large 8 Hand-Carved and Glazed Tile. Circa early 1920’s. Signed twice on the reverse, stamped into the clay. A very large example designed and carved by the hand of Albert Solon, who immigrated from England in 1912, became the Director of the Arequipa Pottery in 1912, and opened the S & S Tile Company with Frank Schemmel in 1920. Several deeply carved and glazed bowls in the same style and signed by Albert Solon are in collections and can be seen by searching Google for “Albert Solon carved bowl”. One bowl has a motif foliage and birds, and the same design of the leaves as used in this tile. WEIGHT : 2 lbs 10 oz. A museum quality American art pottery tile. Excellent condition with no crazing, hairlines, or cracks. There are two small shallow glaze flakes at the upper left of the design (easily repaired if desired – see close-up photos). This piece will be a quality addition to any collection of American Art Pottery and will display beautifully in any decor: Arts and Crafts, Stickley Era, Craftsman, Art Deco, Americana, Folk Art, or Contemporary. Extremely Rare Opalescent Madonna and Child. Centre Piece Art Deco Original on Stand. This is an art deco large pretty Opalescent original Centre Piece with the Madonna and Child figurine. It is very heavy thick glass throwing out colour. This was made in France by Etling Glass in the Depression Era 1930s. The Madonna is holding the Child on her left side with both Madonna and the child facing the same direction. Madonna has a long gown on with a veil over her head. The metal stand has “MADE IN FRANCE” on the underside of the stand. The Madonna is 11.5 inches or 29 cm high and 3.5 inches or 9cm in diameter across the base. The Madonna and Child Figurine is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or damage. These are getting very scarce, you don’t see them very much anymore. Have a look at all the photos to see the lovely colour and condition. I know what it is like to get broken items and feel bitterly disappointed when they are not wrapped properly. A superb and rare figurine made by Nymphenburg in the 20th century. I cannot find another example but looking around I would say it is some sort of cactus wren on a flowering and thorny bush of some sort. He is singing to find a lady friend : which makes sense since they are supposed to have one of the most beautiful songs out there. Native to Arizona and that part of the US. The figure is nicely modeled with lots of detail and perfectly hand painted to look amazing. A good size piece being 9.5 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 3.25 inches deep. The figurine is in perfect condition which is surprising with all those leaves and flowers. It is marked with the impressed shield mark to the top of the base as well as the artist initials LTS for Luise Terletzki Scherf, another impressed shield to the underside as well as the numbers 2033 over 0 and the green shield mark under a crown with Nymphenburg underneath it as shown. Very rare early opalescent and iridescent Loetz shell vase on what appears to be marble stand. From my research this was produced in 1897 and is called zephir chine technique. Glass shell and metal are in perfect condition. Some minor, 2 or 3 very small chips to edge of base where it meets the table, as pictured. Engraved old style numbers to the bottom of the marble as pictured. Measures approximately 6 1/2 inches tall. Please see my other vintage art glass I have listed.
