Rare Antique Louis XV Style Chinese Export Near Pair Paktong Metal Candlesticks
These Candlesticks are in Louis XV style with two part construction. The turnings on the base and the shaft are very similar but ever so slightly different, the most noticeable being the bobeche on the one candlestick. The candlesticks appear to be paktong which might mean they were made in China for export. Condition: Heavy surface patina with some wax. Near pair not identical. Repair to the neck of the stick with a bobeche. Height 10 Inches 25.5 cm. Width 5 3/8 Inches 13.7 cm. Depth 5 3/8 Inches 13.7 cm. ANTIQUE COLONIAL STYLE EYEGLASSES, SLIDING SIDES COSTUME, RARE EARLY OPTICAL. Very Rare Antique Eye Glasses, c. With Sliding Side Bows (stamped 18 on outside of bow). VERY NICE, early pair of antique eye-glasses measuring approximately 4.5″ across the front with the bow length measuring 4-1/8″ unextended x 6 extended. Excellent condition overall although light scratches on the lense. ANTIQUE GLASSES ARE ALWAYS NICE, AND THIS PAIR HAS IT ALL FOR ANY COLLECTION OF EARLY PERIOD PERSONAL ITEMS OR EYEGLASSES DISPLAY OR COLLECTION. YOU COULD ALSO REPLACE LENSES WITH YOUR OWN PRESCRIPTION LENSES, If desired, FOR A REALLY GREAT EARLY 1800 LOOK!!! Lenses have nice “extending” side bows to help adjustment to different size heads. They also have holes on the end, which would allow for a ribbon or cord to be fed through and tied, to help hold them on if they were not tight enough. Really nice, early style, AND STILL IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION with both lenses intact. Complete and usable or a nice item to add to a variety of collections. Also, could be used as props in theatre productions or with Halloween costumes. Last photo is not glasses you will recieve but shows a similar pair dating C.
