ULTRA RARE PROTOTYPE HADRILL HORSTMANN ROLLER LAMP. Designed by Fredjo Horstmann, this lamp dates from the 1940s. London stamp (not the later Godalming stamp 1950s onwards). This is a prototype lamp with extended base (this is a large desk lamp not a floor lamp). The lamp has been professionally polished to a mirror finish on the base, shade, fork and counterweight. The shade itself has retained its shape, but there are a couple of minor dents and scratches/scuffs (difficult to photograph due to the reflective surface). Please be aware that the lamp is over 70 years old. It has had a working life and it therefore has imperfections. Contact me if you would like additional photographs. New chrome bulb holder and re-wired in 3-core, grey vintage flex. Not currently PAT tested, so you are advised to get it checked. Fully extended the lamps stands at approx 1.1m in height. LARGE DUGDILLS COG LAMP WITH BASE. Cog wheel joints and heavy “DUGDILLS PATENT” cast base. Bare metal arms and shade. Fully extended the lamp measures 1.1m to top joint (1.3m with shade tilted upwards). Rewired with vintage flex and fitted with a new chrome bulb holder. Fully working, but not currently PAT tested (advisable to get old lamps checked). The bare metal arms and base have an aged patina. They have been lightly cleaned and waxed. RARE ADMIRALTY DUGDILLS LAMP. Wall or desk mounting lamp. Nikel-plated brass clam shell shade. Admiralty patent to the base (AP9101). Dates from 1920s to 1930s. Rewired with black vintage flex and fitted with an inline switch. Aged patina to the stripped metal arms and base. The shell shade is a little tarnished with a couple of minor creases and areas of loss to the plating (revealing brass beneath). Measures 95cm, when fully extended. All original; Stunning period lamp.. “Please scroll down for details”. Large stool design base incorporating the large circular gallery with the original securing bolts. Built within the gallery is a very unusual central stanchion type three branch pillar structure, each branch with its original bronze E22 bayonet fit bulb holder. Very large heavy Opaline cased glass globe shade with Roman design sky light ventilation feature. Later fitted with a 1940s black Bakelite flat inline replacement ON /OFF switch. Later fitted with a 1940s MK Bakelite three round pin replacement plug with a cord grip. Recently professionally rewired with silk braided two core twist cable, tested, and in perfect working order. A fantastic early vintage industrial Dugdills work lamp. A wonderful & very rare model with a heavy cast iron base & hanging hook, articulated arm & white enamel shade. An exceptionally original example of a lamp which very rarely turns up for sale any more. Rewired in twisted black flex. 1920’s H 45 cm Wear commensurate with age, good overall, cosmetically unrestored. All joints are freely moving with the exception of the swivel joint midway up the arm which is very often seized on these earlier models (I’ve not tried to free it up & it may well release with some encouragement). Height measurement above is taken with the lamp as per the main image. All electrical items should be checked and / or installed by a qualified electrician prior to use.
