Description: For your consideration is a pair of Rare Early Antique Pair of Worcester Dr Wall Period Pre-1793 Sauce / Gravy Boats. These are extremely rare pair of sauce/gravy boats are from Dr. The outside of these sauce/gravy boats are decorated with white high glazed roses & fuchsias, blue flowers by spout and handle. The inside of these boats are decorated in dark blue underglaze tranfer pattern of flowers. The boats are about 6 & 3/4th inches long from mouth to handle and about 3 & 3/4th inches high. Each are shaped to have four peaks around the rim. Each have four peaks around the rim and a big thumb rest. Remarkable condition as they are about 250 years old. One is in perfect condition. The other has a tiny chip on one of the peaks – otherwise in perfect condition. Please look at pictures as they accurately depict the beauty and condition of the set. This is a very rare early glass tumbler that from my best research dates around the 1850s. It is a 3-mold pressed glass with a diamond or crosshatch pattern and a large rooster. When you hold the glass to the light, you can see many bubbles and imperfections. From what I was told, the glass would have been put into a mold and then the top edge would have been ground down flat. The edge is all original and has the typical ground technique that they used so much. Most likely this is what is considered flint glass. It is extremely light and fragile and almost hard to believe that it survived almost 170 years and has no cracks or chips. It is in amazing condition. There are some very fine flake chips on the top edge but this is most likely from when it was ground. It measures 4-3/8″ tall with an opening diameter of 2.25″ and bottom diameter of 1-7/8. A truly rare and early glass tumbler. This came out of a very old estate in Manheim, PA, which is in the same area as the famous Stiegel glass workshop. I have no idea who made this because I cannot find another anywhere and I have searched quite a bit. Please ask if you have any questions. A very rare early French antique solid sterling silver wine taster. It is hallmarked with the French charge and discharge marks for 1768 – 1774, pre French Revolution. It has been superbly made having a scroll handle and engraved initials. It is in good condition for its age being free from splits and repairs, there are a few slight dinks to the raised decoration and one tiny pin hole – see final photo (worth getting sorted on such a rare piece). It is nice and clean inside. 4 inches (10cm) wide including the handle by 3.25 inches (8cm) excluding it by 1 inch (2.6cm) tall to the top of the handle and and weighs 84 grams.
