Exceptionally Rare Early 18th Century Gold & Tortoiseshell Mounted Scissor Case

An exceptionally rare 18th Century Gold and Tortoiseshell Mounted Scissor Case, circa 1700- 1740, the front and back decorated with pique point work of flowers, laurels and butterflies, the sides with a double leaf border, the hinged lid opening to reveal a recess, a pair of later steel scissors that are present. This would have been owned by an exceptionally wealthy and probably important person of their day, this would have cost a small fortune back around the early 1700s. A piece that really should be in a museum. Without a doubt the most exquisite early item I have ever had the pleasure of owning, the damage can be seen in the photos, however, the rarity and beauty of the workmanship override this in my opinion. The lower half has damage to one edge (see last photo), some damage to just below the reverse of the hinge section missing. Small areas of gold loss. The button release works perfectly, small loss of shell by the button, and the inner frame is gold lined. This really is a museum piece. Vintage Herbert Terry 1227 Anglepoise Lamp in Rare Yellow Colour. Early Version with Metal Fittings and Rolled Edge Shade and Original Lamp holder. The lamp has new wiring and is working. The shade is very good for age, some very minor dents and bits of paint missing. The base section does have damage and has been repaired with epoxy by the looks. Please see photos for the condition. Very rare opportunity to own an unrestored original early signature model of Ercol. This compact Ercol Armchair is a rare early model as it has springs rather than webbing. In beech and elm. Appx 65cm wide (arm to arm). 49cm deep (front legs to rear legs). 80cm tall (ground to the top of the back rest). The cushion is not original, but the rest are in unrestored condition including the finish, springs, and even the sticker. Wish I could keep it, but the downsizing forces sale.. Rare turned head Kestner early letter series antique doll

Angie: This is a rare early 18 inch Kestner with the mark J or F on the perfect head, a turned head. The sleep eyes work beautifully and are brown, pink lids are so sweet; the shoulder head is in perfect shape with no chips cracks or rubs on the doll. She is named Angie on the tag is from 1880’s but most likely made in the late 1890’s with a lovely original good condition kid leather body that has working joints with no leaks, the doll is fully dressed in four layers of fine lace, batiste, and silk. She has on hand made leather kid boots and possesses tiny buttons 4 of them. The sweet doll has silk stockings and a lace bonnet which is enchanting. The underdress is all hand made as is the silk afternoon walking coat dress. A perfect doll for the discriminating doll collector. I love the style of the dress too, with the piping running down each side and all the lace, such perfection. Rare Late 18th-Early 19th C. PIETRA DURA Hard Stone / Marble 10.5 Obelisk

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a very unusual antique Pietra Dura hard stone inlaid on marble obelisk. This nice obelisk is made of black marble and features a panel with Pietra Dura hard stone inlay decoration with beautiful coloration in the stones. Measures 10 5/8″ high with the square base measuring 3 5/8″ in diameter. Weights 2.6 pounds. This gorgeous obelisk is in excellent Estate condition with only some small nicks in the marble as expected with items of this age. The flaws are minor no-harm nicks around the bottom edges otherwise the piece is in excellent Estate condition. The Pietra Dura is in excellent condition with no noted flaws. We actually have a matched pair of these lovely obelisk, however, this listing is for one only with the second one available at the same price if you wish to display as a pair. Please note that the second one is also in very good to excellent Estate condition similar in wear as the one listed above, however, the tower section of the obelisk is slightly loose and needs to be tightened which we will leave to the new owner.
