RARE ANTIQUE TIN TOY. EARLY MECHANICAL MOTORCYCLE / AUTOMATON RIDER. NICE SIZE AT ABOUT 8 INCHES LENTH / 7 INCHES HEIGHT. CLOCKWORK / WIND UP MECHANISM….. POWERS THE BIKE THRU ITS RARE CHAIN DRIVE ACTION. PERIOD EDWARDIAN GENTLEMAN FIGURE, WITH ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED FINISH. VERY NICE OLD MOTORCYCLE, STILL WITH BRIGHT BLUE LITHO. NICE TIN SPOKE WHEELS & ORIG. ORIGINAL FIXED-KEY WINDER TO THE LEFT SIDE. THE MOTORCYCLIST HAS A WONDERFUL ARTICULATED MOVEMENT, GIVING THE IMPRESSION HE IS “PEDAL STARTING ” HIS BIKE. STILL WITH THE UNDERSIDE LITTLE BALANCE WHEELS. WONDERFUL OLD PIECE NOW WELL OVER 100 YEARS……. The rider displays with typical paint loss/wear, chips, flaking as is common to these earlier German toys. Nice bright tin litho, with just little surface marks, chips, scuffs etc…. Great rot free state. No repaint or touch up. Motorcyclist has lost his left arm to shoulder hang tabs i have created a simple metal bracket with tabs, which simply slots into the original shoulder slots….. The rider’s underside upper left arm, simply requires securing permanently to this bracket…. With a drop of solder ideally….. But to leave for the next owner, i have had the arm very securely fixed in place with a small blue tack fixing/so easily removeable if desired. If you look at the images, you probably wouldn’t know the left arm has been repaired this way….. But i always try to be honest. MOTORCLE RIDER SITS GREAT ON HIS OLD SADDLE. WITH A CAREFUL WIND UP OF THE ANCIENT MECHANISM….. SEE SHORT CLIP BELOW AS THE MOTORCYCLE RIDES ABOUT VERY NICELY. RARE EARLY GERMAN TOY DISPLAYS REALLY WELL & STILL WORKS GREAT. Rare Antique Pair of Tole Peinte Garniture Bouquet Urns Early 1800s. This is an extremely rare garniture from the early 1800s either French or Italian. Initially crafted for the flower market stalls. Placed on the back of the shelf and with fresh flowers placed in front the flowered urns gave the illusion of the shelves being lush with flowers. Either a pair on top of the mantle or on the ground flanking the opening of the fireplace. On a table one could protect a candle from drafts. The ones from the market would not have survived the conditions. The ones found in pairs today were pairs bought for the home. They are extremely rare. As far as researching pairs most of the examples I can find are far more simple in the design and execution. Plus a tad smaller in size. As far as Im concerned this pair is worthy of being part of a decorative arts collection in a museum. They measure up to almost 24. The widest point is between 10-11 inches. The paint for the age is very stable and not flaking. The detail work is amazing. One of the central posts has a break. This is not uncommon. It is still very stable. Rare Early Liberty & Co Art Nouveau Silver Button Cymric Archibald Knox 1899

For their CYMRIC range, fully assay marked for 1899. This is a rare early example and this design rarely comes up in auctions. Would make a wonderful gift or addition to a collection. It has a gorgeous and stunning design of fern leaves with a textured surface which catches the light. One of the earliest CYMRIC designs, it appears in the first CYMRIC catalogue of 1899/1900 – number 4 on the page of buttons (last photo). This beautiful leaf design typifies Art Nouveau’s love of the natural world. Specific designers for Liberty and Co. Were not advertised and crucial early records were lost, but it is known that Archibald Knox contributed many of the designs for CYMRIC silver and enamel jewellery at this time. Other designers for Liberty included Bernard Cuzner, Jessie King, Oliver Baker, Charles Voysey and David Veasey. In good antique condition, marked L&Co in the lozenge mark for Liberty, and fully assay marked with Birmingham anchor, lion passant for Sterling silver, date letter z for 1899. Early Figural Sterling Silver Ship Desk Oil Lamp Rare

It is marked Sterling on one of the small tubular supports for the lamp. It measures almost 4 1/2 inches long and 2 inches at the widest part. It stands about 2 inches tall at the oil part and the dragon figure. What a rare piece to find still intact. It is in good condition execpt for a few small dents in the round bowl. They are minor considering the age of the piece. Nothing to take away for the piece itself. I polished the piece after I took the photos. Check out our other auctions this week. Fine set of 8 x hard to find genuine antique Regency reclaimed ring. Pull handles with a. Repeated shell motif in. Petal form to the backplates. The backplates are pressed brass with some of the original gilt wash finish remaining. The rings are tubular/hollow brass. Size; backplates measure 66 mm diameter, 2.6 inches. Weight; lot weighs 226 grams. A beautiful set of handles in good condition with mellow patina and some general wear. No nuts, one has. Short post; see photos.
