Rare Vintage Table Lamp and Shade, Unique 1930/40s Ornate Metal Table Lamp Decoupaged with Ribbon, Beaded & Ribbed, Swirl Decorative Handle. Made from: metal – fabric shade. Measures: Base height 43, Width 13, Depth 13, cm approx. Measures: Shade height 18, width 27, Depth 17, cm approx. Bulb: bayonet – wired with plug. Sellers notes: Please note this is a pre-loved item therefore imperfections have accumulated over time. The lamp stand and shade have lots of wear and tear; scratches, scuffs and light rust. The shade is its original and has blue paint, small rip and has lost some pleats. If you are looking for something old and unique this lamp is just for you. Rare Pats Pending 2 Step Anglepoise 1227. Perforated Shade. Early Fork. Yellow

RARE 2 STEP ANGLEPOISE 1227 BY HERBERT TERRY & SONS. First edition of the 1227 2 Step (PATS PENDING). Dates from the late 1930s. 3 part fork with lower earth. The lamp is a shed find. As such the chrome arms, springs etc, were badly rusted. The lamp was been taken apart and cleaned. Removing the rust, has revealed that much of the chrome on the arms and fork has been lost. What remains, is peeling/flaking. The chrome could easily be removed if you wished. The lower, centre arm has a small hole in it (probably caused by corrosion). The paintwork is pale yellow in colour. There are a couple of chips to the paint on the shade, which reveals blue underneath. The yellow paint is aged and cracked. The shade has some chips/scuffs. Rusting/tarnishing to springs, bolts, spacers, etc. Fully working, but not currently PAT tested (advisable to get old lamps checked). Rewired with black, vintage flex and fitted with a chrome bulb holder. Earthed at the earthing point on the fork. Please be aware that, this is a vintage item and not perfect. RARE EDITION ANGLEPOISE 1227 BY HERBERT TERRY & SONS. EARLY ARMS WITH MID-ARM TENSIONING BOLT. DATES FROM LATE 1930s TO EARLY 1940s. FULLY WORKING, BUT NOT CURRENTLY PAT TESTED (YOU ARE ADVISED TO GET IT CHECKED). REWIRED WITH 3 CORE VINTAGE FLEX. ORIGINAL CRABTREE BULB HOLDER IS RETAINED. THE LAMP IS FITTED WITH A VERY RARE BAKELITE SHADE (IN SUPERB CONDITION). BAKELITE WAS USED DURING THE INTER AND EARLY POST WAR YEARS, DUE TO METAL SHORTAGES. AS BAKELITE IS VERY FRAGILE, VERY FEW OF THESE SHADES SURVIVED. THE SHADE HAS NO CRACKS/SPLITS. THERE IS ONE SMALL SCRATCH ON THE REAR OF THE SHADE (SEE PIC 12). Rare Early Herbert Terry Anglepoise 1227 2 Step Black With Perforated Shade

Rare Herbert Terry 1227. This iconic lamp from the makers Herbert Terry and Sons has been restored with a focus on retaining its industrial heritage. Known as the model 1227, this is a highly sought after industrial lamp which is the archetypal of anglepoise. This particular version of the 1227 is a very early model that can be identified through its perforated shade and’wrinkled’ paintwork. This model was produced during the crossover period (which was in the year 1938) between the 3-step and 2-step base. Resultantly, this lamp feautres aspects from both models and is a highly sought after version. The 1227 dates back to the mid 20th century and the anglepoise design was originally created by George Carwardine, an engineer with a specialist background in vehicle suspension systems. As part of the restoration process for this lamp, it was necessary to have a complete electrical upgrade. This has been done using a braided fabric 3-core flex and a British 3-pin plug fitted with a 3-amp fuse. The lamp also comes complete with a low energy LED bulb. This lamp has been fully tested by a qualified electrician. Please note that this lamp does have a repair to the fork block that has been captured in the photos. This repair includes bracing to the fork block on both sides due to damage to one of the forks. The repair on bracing the forks is quality engineering that does not deter from the aesthetic or structural integrity. Tiffany Studios Rare Early Sconce + Opalescent Ruffled Shade (ca. 1905)

An early and unique Tiffany Studios single-arm sconce, of petite proportions, together with a large white ruffled-rim opalescent shade. The shade is absolutely gorgeous, when held up to the light it displays a spectacular array of opalescent colors. I do not see a signature or series of numbers but there is a small round mark near the rim, which could also be from an over-tightened screw but appears a bit far up the neck for a screw. The fixture itself is quite simplistic, with only small hints of L. A traditional form “candle cup” bobeche flows down into a round lily pad section with a swirling design. The arm has a wire wrap under the bobeches and at the wall cap side has a small round fitting, both are typical design elements in fixtures made in the early years of the studios. The Socket is General Electric and the shade fitting is Victor. (see photos on my web page) They were all originally from the same estate, and saved by maintenance during renovations. Some highlights of this group were: Pair of rare entryway sconces with their original bronze backplates, A moorish “chainmail” ceiling pendant, Pair of incredibly rare double-arm, half-gas/half electric sconces, and 6 double arm “student” sconces. See photos on my web page. Condition : The shade is in very good shape with no breaks, cracks, or repairs. There is some remnants of paint splatter which can easily be removed, and 2 small chips to the fitter. The fixture is In need of restoration to the finish. Rare Early 2/3 Step (Small Shade) Herbert Terry 1227 Anglepoise Lamp in Gold

Purveyors of wonderful things. Hello and welcome to the sale of this superb anglepoise lamp. Made by the British company Herbert Terry & Sons in 1938 this lamp is the sought after pre-war example with a smaller perforated shade, taller fork, mid-section tensioner and earth disc. This particular example comes in it original gold painted finish and has its Crabtree bakelite bulb holder. It has been stripped, cleaned and rewired with three meters of new fabric cable, that is correctly earthed to the frame (as per originals) and new felt to the base. If your interested in Herbert Terry lamps you will know this is a good example of a rare lamp (they made less of these than the earlier 3 step version).
