Colibri Sterling Silver Pocket wheel lighter, Antique early rare, hallmarked
A very rare Colibri pocket lighter that is ideal for restoration as it is complete. Made of Sterling Silver it features a pen style design and wheel flint action. Full markings as shown. Ideal for restoration as would only require stripping, the silver straight ink and a good clean. When complete this is a highly collectible rare lighter of significant value. Non smoking house and stored in dark and dry conditions. I have collected many items over the years and it is now time to let some go as well as finally have room in an overflowing loft. So please study them carefully. If you are are uncertain of anything please contact me and ask.

Rare Georgian Early Silver Jockey Cap Caddy Spoon Hallmarked 1798 Joseph Taylor
A fine George III early silver caddy spoon in the form of a jockey’s cap with bright cut engraved decoration denoting the stitching, a decorative star to the button on the top and foliate decoration framing a shield cartouche on the brim and further to the underside. It is finished with a shaped engraved “ribbon” at the back. Unusually with full hallmarks under the brim, a very early jockey cap caddy spoon, Birmingham 1798, maker Joseph Taylor. It measures 5cm (2″) long, 4cm (1 9/16″) wide and 1.7cm (5/8) high and weighs 7g. In good condition overall: there are two small splits to the ribbon section at the back. A neat and unobtrusive line of repair to a section of the join with the brim and also to a diagonal across the width of the brim, more clearly seen underneath. A few tiny nick marks to the shield cartouche suggest unsurprisingly an original engraving has been erased. No dents and the engraved detail is nice and crisp and the marks are clear. EARLY & RARE STERLING SILVER POCKET WHISKEY FLASK MAKER & DATE HALLMARKED. EARLY & RARE WILLIAM IV STERLING SILVER POCKET WHISKEY. CAMPAIGN FLASK FULLY LONDON HALMARKED / MAKER. CHARLES REILY & GEORGE STORER / DATED 1833. This is a high quality, Maker hallmarked and dated, Antique early 19. Sterling silver campaign Whiskey flask in an unusual small cylindrical shape. This eye appealing flask is completely hand made in the very desirable small size pocket flask size; 3 ½ tall flask x 1 ½ in diameter and is intended as a pocket flask, typically kept inside a jacket pocket. This is called a campaign flask as it was intended for a gentleman and sportsman to take along on any hunting, sporting event, for traveling or just carry for an occasional nip. The cylindrical body has a flat plate silver soldered to the bottom of the base which has slightly rounded edges. The mushroom shaped sterling silver screw cap has a slightly domed top with a collar on the top and bottom of the neck. The threaded screw top appears to have the original cork insert and secures the top to the bottle securely and appears it would hold liquid if used; but it has not been tested. The front face of the body has personalized initials in Old English script that appears to be W T C. Being handmade, this piece has a very slight undulations in the body as it was hand hammered from the inside. There are no real dents; just one small ding on the back side opposite the engraved initials. This piece seems heavy for its size, weighing 2 ounces or 55 grams. This piece has 4 Hallmark markings; CG is the Maker Mark of Charles Reily & George Storer / London. This mark was first registered in 1829, and the firm was in business from 1828 to 1850. The hallmark to the right is the duty mark with the profile of King George IV, used from 1822 to 1833. This flask was made in 1833, the last year this mark was used before the new Regency mark for King William began in 1834. The next mark is the Lion mark for. 925 Sterling, and the mark S is the London date mark for 1833. The 521 and BB scratched into the base represent an inventory # and the initials of the Artisan/Craftsman of the firm. This handsome pocket Whiskey campaign flask was hand crafted by Artisans in Old England, remains in excellent condition overall with a very light, natural aged patina, and demonstrates this piece has been put up and well taken care of in its 188 years of age. Small pocket flasks from this period are quite rare in this condition. This would be great for any Whiskey or Spirits, gambling, or flask collection; and could still be used by any gentleman, sportsman, hunter, outdoors man, or sports fan; or use as a gift, decorator piece in any Man cave, office, or den. Exceptions include holidays, power outages, and evacuations.
