The Massif de l’Esterel is a low mountain range on the coast of the Mediterranean in SE France having a high elevation of around 2000 feet. The most well known cities adjoining the range are the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur) cities of Cannes on the east and Saint-Raphaël on the west that are connected to each other by the coast road Corniche d’Or. Lalique spent time in Cannes and would have been familiar with these mountains. Indeed a very impressive and unusual Piece that will make a collector very very happy! . With deep long chocolat mohair all jointed , great face with long snout… Embroidery nose and claws , glass eyes , original , all jointed work perfectly , hump on back , originals felt paws. ANTIQUE RARE EARLY AMERICAN HECLA TEDDY BEAR c1906 AN EXCEPTIONAL BEAUTY

HOLLY HECLA ANTIQUE AMERICAN TEDDY BEAR. Offering an exceptional early American HECLA teddy bear who dates to c1906. This teddy is gorgeous and in near-mint condition retaining almost all of her mohair. She’s an extraordinary example of a Hecla bear; one of the most desirable antique early American teddy bears to collect. This teddy, named HOLLY, wears an antique Victorian bright red coat with lace collar and a rare antique American Flag pinback button dating to c1900 (see photo). She has one of the prettiest faces you’ll see on a Hecla bear with a cute quirky smile. Holly is fully-jointed and measures a large 15 tall. She is in all original condition with no odors and has very minor mohair wear. Her paw pads are original and one paw has a hole where the excelsior peaks through. It is contained and doesn’t fall out. She has her original painted-back glass eyes, and a rust-colored nose, mouth, and claw stitching. Holly’s coat is as old as her and has wear from age with small holes here and there. She displays nicely at Christmas wearing her lovely red coat! You rarely find good Hecla bears these days and they are far less common than Steiff. The Hecla Company was in production at the turn of the century for just two years so they are more scarce than Steiff. See all photos that describe this gorgeous bear best. Don’t miss her!
