A Georgian silver desk stand, with two capped glass inkwells and a central pen holder with beaded decoration, raised on ball and claw feet, London 1778, maker William Plumber. Antique Victorian Silver Inkwell Superb. This outstanding Georgian solid silver inkwell will make an impressive addition to your desk, with its detailed pretty and delicate floral engravings throughout, a fantastic quality base which holds 2 glass inkwells in excellent condition as well as a prettily decorated candle holder. Would make a great addition to your desk or collection! Hallmarked to the underside of the stand for London 1778 by William Plummer. The three pierced silver bottle holders are each part hallmarked with the lion passant. The bottle caps and collars are unmarked. In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. There is no glass damage and the bottles would appear to be original and matching. A little clouding of the silver on the inkstand base. Approximate hallmarked silver weight is 6.2 troy ounces. Approximate total weight is 1.264 kilos. Approximate dimensions are 18 cm length, 13cm width and. This item displays beautifully but there is a obvious repair to on of the leg which looks as though it has been done a very long time ago. Iam sure this could be made tidier by a professional but I think it just adds to the charm of the piece and I have reflected this damage in the asking price. Both glass inkwells are 100 % original and in superb condition for their age. This lovely item can be used exactly as intended over 244 years ago. I really don’t want to sell this but my wife has pulled rank and I want it to go to someone who will display it and appreciate its beauty. This would make a beautiful present or indulgent treat. If you have a favourite pen like me it’s a perfect way to have it on display. Us serious collectors have spent a fortune on pens but who has a more characterful charming way to show them off. A rare and robust matching service from the prestigious Sheffield makers Walker & Hall. This set is professional “Hotel Quality, ” built using the superior “Warranted Hard & Silver Soldered” method, making it incredibly durable and heavy-gauge. The teapot features a fascinating hand-scribed “W D” mark on the base (positioned by the flag logo) indicating it was issued to the British War Department. This set likely saw service in a Military Officers’ Mess or a Government Department circa 1930. The coffee pot remains in its original factory state without the additional department mark. Teapot is a 2-Pint capacity, marked with date letter’m’ c. Coffee Pot is a 1½-Pint capacity (marked 1½ PTS), matching design and series number (53665A). Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition with a bright high-shine finish. They are watertight, solid, and ready for use or display. And rare high grade solid silver snuff box of oval curved form with an embossed fluted decorated lid and reeded body. The lid has a central cartouche with the engraved initials “GK”. Rich silver-gilt (gold washed) interior. Tested as 900 (900/1000) or higher solid silver fineness. Rare French hallmarks, Minerva head with letter “C”, a very unusual double headed stamp, a makers mark and another swan or reversed “S” type stamp. In very good condition, no nasty dents, splits, holes, repairs. There is a couple of dints to the underside (please inspect end photograph). Hinge in good order, being strong and closing the lid securely, the decoration is in excellent condition and the interior silver-gilt is rich and bright. R. & Co of Bombay, a known maker of Indian silver active in the late 19th to early 20th century. Rare Antique Silver Elephant Inkwell with Bronze Flautist Monkey. Gorgeous antique silver plated Indian elephant inkwell featuring a little bronze monkey playing the flute. Highly detailed with elephant headdress and a beautiful uplifted trunk. The tusks act as a pen rest. 6.5″ by 5.5″ by 4.75 made circa 1920, likely German or Austrian. It’s a beautiful rare form. Looks to have been mounted at one point and does not rest flat. You would need to make a small cut on the added bar for it to lay level. Dent in base on left side.
