BEAUTIFUL VERY RARE ART NOUVEAU UNGER BROTHERS ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER MOUNTED GRAPE SCISSORS SHEARS On offer is this beautiful, very rare pair of antique sterling silver mounted grape scissors shears crafted in a fabulous Art Nouveau style – please see the photos. They are by the quality firm of Unger Brothers of Newark, New Jersey, USA who were active from about 1872 to 1914 and noted for producing stunning sterling silver pieces such as this in the Art Nouveau style. HALLMARKS: There are a selection of marks – the Unger Brothers logo along with’STERLING’ to each of the handles, two further little applied silver plates to the inside of the finger holes with’STERLING’ – rubbed on one. To the scissors part -‘GERMANY’ to one side and number’100′ to both. APPROXIMATE SIZE: They are about 14.7cm in length and weigh 44g. CONDITION: As noted, in good antique condition overall – the silver itself is fine – usual signs of wear commensurate with age and use. The blades have signs of wear which you can see clearly on the photos. They are functional and open and close fine. If you have any questions, please ask. Any dark marks, etc are reflections or bits of age-related patina.
