Early Rare Antique Roswell Kimberly Mantle Clock Ansonia Serviced & Running. Here is a nice condition, rare to find, early American 30 hour mantle clock that was made by Roswell Kimberly, at Ansonia, Conn. USA in the 1840’s. We wound it up for a test run and find that It is running and gonging properly. This is a highly collectible clock right from our collection. Note: Roswell Kimberly is mentioned as one of the earlist clockmakers at Ansonia, CT. Making clocks when Anson Phelps Ansonia Clock Co. Was still producing brass and copper while building his industrial park complex, which he named Ansonia in1844. The case is very nice with the original label still inside. There is some neat looking age/stress cracking on the left side of the case and a small amount of veneer repair and restoration work, but overall the case, as well as the painted dial, is much nicer than you usually find on a 180 year old clock. It also comes with the original club style hands, and what looks to be the original pendulum. The case measurements at the longest points are 20 ¾” high x 11″ wide x 4 deep. This clock comes complete with the pendulum and a key. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, so please be sure that you will be happy by reviewing the pictures and descriptions that we provide. We honestly want you to be happy. It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. Once in awhile we do offer other types of antiques and collectibles for sale, but mainly clocks are what we’re about. We are a very small, family run enterprise.. Ben handles all repairs in house. He has been restoring clocks since 1976, and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors since 1978. Brief History: Illinois Watch Company. The Illinois Springfield Watch Company was organized in 1869 primarily through the efforts of J. The first company Directors were J. Miller, John Williams, John W. Bunn, George Black and George Passfield. John Stuart was a Springfield lawyer and former partner of Abraham Lincoln. John Williams was president of the First National bank of Springfield. Miller was a local merchant. Bunn owned a grocery business. Though the first movements were produced in 1872, the company really didn’t achieve full production until 1875. By serial number, the first watch made was the “Stuart” model, followed in order by the “Mason, ” Bunn, ” “Miller, ” and finally the “Currier. The first stem-wind watch was produced in 1875. The early Illinois models were key-wound and key-set and are quite collectible today. Illinois later produced an extensive line of extremely fine and accurate Railroad-grade pocket watches like the “Sangamo Special, ” “Bunn Special” and “Santa Fe Special” (just to name a few). Illinois: A Great American Watch Since 1870. In 1879, due to financial difficulties, the company was reorganized and the name changed to the Illinois Springfield Watch Company. By 1885 the company name was changed yet again to the Illinois Watch Company. Hamilton continued producing Illinois watches in the Hamilton factory until 1939. There is some question as to whether Burlington was actually a subsidiary of Illinois. Watches produced under the Burlington name include some very fine (including some railroad grade) watches, which are nearly identical to Illinois movements. Illinois also produced watches for the Plymouth Watch Company (Sears Roebuck) and the Washington Watch Company (Montgomery Ward). Illinois Watch Case Company. OFFERED FOR SALE TODAY IS THIS BEAUTIFUL 1913 GENUINE ROLEX SIGNED TOP QUALITY WORKING ORDER RARE LARGE LADYS ROLEX 9 CARAT SOLID YELLOW GOLD WATCH & BAND IN LOVELY CONDITION WITH A GORGEOUS WHITE ENAMEL DIAL. This is an absolutely lovely 3 piece genuine and original FULLY SIGNED double hinged back and front solid 9 carat yellow gold round with a beautiful LARGE round watch case. The case is in excellent condition with no noticeable dings and very light wear that I can see. The case sides are excellent. The inside of the case is beautifully engraved with the wording ROLEX’ & the rarer’W&D’ marks and it is also numbered. The gold mark is’9′ and. The hall mark is for LONDON and the date mark is for 1913. The case measures 2.6cms (26mm) across EXCLUDING the lugs and crown. This is a wonderful excellent condition white FULLY ROLEX SIGNED ENAMEL dial. All of the black painted Arabic numerals are SHARP and crisp. The dial has a gold dotted outer chapter ring which is excellent. There is one light hairline which runs along the edge of the dial between 10 and 12 o’clock which is not very noticeable. The dial is fully signed ROLEX in black. The dial has 2 original blued steel stunning hands which look to be in excellent condition. The crystal is plastic, is new and is in excellent condition. This is a wonderful really clean genuine ROLEX FULLY SIGNED high grade quality jeweled lever movement. It looks to have had little intervention and the top plates have a lovely Geneva striping and the word’ROLEX’ stamped onto the plate near to the mainspring barrel (see photos) This fantastic ROLEX movement is in working order and has been serviced by my watchmaker. The movement winds fine and sets as it should. The watch keeps time to within a couple of mins per day as tested over a 12 hour period. All in all this is a beautiful ROLEX original movement. This beautiful timepiece is fitted with a lovely solid 9 carat gold expandable sprung band which is stamped for 9ct gold. The band is in excellent condition. The band will fit a lady’s wrist. I estimate up to a 7 inch wrist. THIS IS A FANTASTIC AND EXTREMELY RARE GREAT CONDITION ROLEX WRISTWATCH. There is NO exception. I describe all of my items to the best of my knowledge.
