A rare and robust matching service from the prestigious Sheffield makers Walker & Hall. This set is professional “Hotel Quality, ” built using the superior “Warranted Hard & Silver Soldered” method, making it incredibly durable and heavy-gauge. The teapot features a fascinating hand-scribed “W D” mark on the base (positioned by the flag logo) indicating it was issued to the British War Department. This set likely saw service in a Military Officers’ Mess or a Government Department circa 1930. The coffee pot remains in its original factory state without the additional department mark. Teapot is a 2-Pint capacity, marked with date letter’m’ c. Coffee Pot is a 1½-Pint capacity (marked 1½ PTS), matching design and series number (53665A). Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition with a bright high-shine finish. They are watertight, solid, and ready for use or display. Features the classic Walker & Hall pennant flag and Sheffield stamps. A beautiful set of British heritage silver plate with a genuine historical connection.

An absolutely fantastic antique cruet set with beautifully preserved original cut crystal bottles. The carving is crisp and elegant. The proportions are beautifully balanced. And yes – it includes the rare cayenne pepper bottle with its pierced top, still present and intact. There are clearly visible maker’s marks on the stand. What I can say with confidence: it is an English silver-plated set from the early 20th century, solidly made and thoughtfully designed. The silver plate shows noticeable wear along the edges and on the upper handle, with warm brass tones coming through in places. This is honest age-related wear and consistent with its age. Structurally, it is strong and stable. The glass is in very good condition. No chips or cracks observed. The set has been carefully cleaned and gently polished where appropriate. The condition visible in the photographs is exactly as described – what you see is what you will receive. No hidden defects, no structural issues, no unpleasant surprises. The silver tray is not original to the set. It has been intentionally paired to complement the cruet and create a stronger visual presence. Together, they can function not only as serving ware but as a refined centrepiece for a dining table or kitchen island. The tray may also be used separately if preferred. Some pieces reveal everything. Some keep a small secret.

Material: Silver-plated tin L/W/H = approx. 5 cm / 35. 0 cm / 21. 7 cm Pictured in the WMF book “Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork” from 1906 on page 342 – no. OFFERED TODAY IS THIS SILVER PLATED BEAUTIFUL CIRCA LATE GEORGIAN/ EARLY VICTORIAN HINGED LID LADY’S DESK TOP INK STAND WITH LOVELY LION MASK HANDLES AND SET UPON BUN FEET. COMPLETE WITH ITS ORIGINAL GLASS INKWELLS AND SPONGE COMPARTMENT WITH LID. Some light wear to plating in places. Hinges for lid very good. Glass on inkwells no chips. Small hole at the side of one foot (underneath) which looks to be intentional. A few light dings to the main body but in good condition for its age. Approx length= 20 cms. Approx width= 9.5 cms.
