Very Rare Antique c1809 Early Spode England'Caramanian' Pearlware Transfer
A fine original early 19th Century antique English Georgian blue and white transferware plate from Spode’s perennially popular “Caramanian” Series. This one printed in the “Sarcophagi and Sepulchres at the head of the harbour of Cacamo” pattern. The reverse of the plate has the c1770 impressed makers mark, Spode 9, underglaze and blue printed makers mark X. Condition; Sadly there is damage to the plate (see photo), the actual transfer is incredible still for its age – over 217 years old, It’s an amazing piece of early Spode.

This is a rare Wedgwood botanical floral design plate with a rope style edge. The back is marked with a blue T, and impressed #1 and Wedgwood marking. There are the 3 pin holes on the back from holding them up in the kilm. There are a few pops of blue from firing, and all under glaze. But no utensil marking, chips, or cracks. Check out pictures as part of the description. This rare find is in remarkable condition. This flower of the month is from 1809.

A Rare Antique Staffordshire Pearlware Silver Lustre Resist BLUE GROUND Mug circa 1815. About 3 1/2″ high x 3 1/2″ across the lip. A finely potted mug dipped in a blue slip then decorated in silver lustre resist with rows of circles and leaves. The thumbrest is silver lustred halfway down the handle and a 1/2 of the blue ground is left showing at the base. In excellent condition without any damage I can see or feel. There is some light oxidation to the lip on both sides which only shows in the right light. Please see all the photos and close up photos to add to the condition report. A rare Toby jug model I have been unable to find another example of. With underglaze painted bowtie and further detailing along with blue colouring in a pearl glaze. Produced circa 1820 but perhaps slightly earlier. In good overall condition with no chips, just a hairline crack to the underside. Height: 21 cm – Base diameter: 11 cm – Max diameter (approx): 16 cm. Quite a lovely piece and will make a great addition to any appreciator of Staffordshire pottery. Some damage to foliage – see attached images. Some roughness and fleabites around the bottom rim, commensurate with age. Minor areas of paint loss. Exhibits signs of age such as surface wear and weathering.
