Antique Ottoman Iznik ware vase – late 19th C? – Early 20th Century? A beautiful iznik pottery vase measuring approx 6 inches tall, and painted with flower sprays. Pierre Paulin Globe Lounge Chair and ottoman by Artifort. With its elegantly rounded shell on a chromed tubular base, the Globe Chaise has all the qualities of a comfortable modern chaise. The Globe Lounge Chair was designed by French designer Pierre Paulin for Artifort in 1959/60. Pierre Paulin trained to become a sculptor in Paris but an unfortunate accident left one of his hands partially impaired. Pierre Paulin was able to infuse the free-flowing curves of sculpture into his fabulous chairs. Here is a rare and early Greek Islands embroidery from the 17th Century or early 18th C. Colors are very well preserved and the embroidery is in fairly good condition. The tassels were probably added in the 19th Century to replace the original tassels. This may have been a scarf. Dimensions: It measures 14 x 32 inches. Circa: Late Late 1600s / Early 1700s.
