Rare Antique Silver Elephant Inkwell with Bronze Flautist Monkey. Gorgeous antique silver plated Indian elephant inkwell featuring a little bronze monkey playing the flute. Highly detailed with elephant headdress and a beautiful uplifted trunk. The tusks act as a pen rest. 6.5″ by 5.5″ by 4.75 made circa 1920, likely German or Austrian. It’s a beautiful rare form. Looks to have been mounted at one point and does not rest flat. You would need to make a small cut on the added bar for it to lay level. Dent in base on left side. Offered here is my. RARE SCHUCO ROLLER SCOOTER. VERY EARLY MECHANICAL VEHICLE, WITH MONKEY RIDER (wind-up, not friction). Little mohair and felt covered monkey figure. About late 1920’s. Tinplate three wheeled scooter measures about 9 cm length. UNUSUAL WIND-UP / CLOCKWORK MONKEY CAR……. ORIGINAL FIXED-HEAD KEY WINDER. Scooter still winds up, and speeds about in large circle. The scooter mechanism has a mechanical attachment, still moving but not connected to the monkey’s arm; as the scooter moves about, this attachment would make the monkey wave his right arm (which originally held a balloon). Now so very old, he displays in his original untouched state, as clearly shown……. Monkey and scooter aged with plenty of wear, surface loss, head looseness, marking and missing parts. (please take a good look at the images for his actual condition). SCARCE ALMOST ANTIQUE TIN TOY, A REAL PERIOD PIECE FROM EARLY LAST CENTURY. This charming little fella has a jointed head with tan felt face and ears. His face has painted details, and includes. Black boot button eyes. He’s wearing a cap with pom-pom and ruffled collar with bell. There is extensive moth damage to felt on right side, mouth, head, and tail. Please contact me for further photos, if needed. Darkening, discoloration, and fading to felt. Brown glass button eyes are clear and intact. Missing original Steiff ear button. Extensive moth damage to felt on right side, mouth, head, and tail. Hole in base of hat. Armature wire is protruding at bottom of left rear foot. No loose seams or stitches. Softwood shavings or “excelsior” are undisturbed. 6 ” x 6″ x 4.
