Early Rare Antique Roswell Kimberly Mantle Clock Ansonia Serviced & Running. Here is a nice condition, rare to find, early American 30 hour mantle clock that was made by Roswell Kimberly, at Ansonia, Conn. USA in the 1840’s. We wound it up for a test run and find that It is running and gonging properly. This is a highly collectible clock right from our collection. Note: Roswell Kimberly is mentioned as one of the earlist clockmakers at Ansonia, CT. Making clocks when Anson Phelps Ansonia Clock Co. Was still producing brass and copper while building his industrial park complex, which he named Ansonia in1844. The case is very nice with the original label still inside. There is some neat looking age/stress cracking on the left side of the case and a small amount of veneer repair and restoration work, but overall the case, as well as the painted dial, is much nicer than you usually find on a 180 year old clock. It also comes with the original club style hands, and what looks to be the original pendulum. The case measurements at the longest points are 20 ¾” high x 11″ wide x 4 deep. This clock comes complete with the pendulum and a key. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, so please be sure that you will be happy by reviewing the pictures and descriptions that we provide. We honestly want you to be happy. It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. Once in awhile we do offer other types of antiques and collectibles for sale, but mainly clocks are what we’re about. We are a very small, family run enterprise.. Ben handles all repairs in house. He has been restoring clocks since 1976, and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors since 1978. Jen and Lana handle all of the pictures, listings, marketing and design, as well as some of the restoration work. We definitely don’t want any bad feedbacks, so we try to describe everything exactly as it is and if we do something wrong, we will make it right. We do not use our computers on Sunday, the Lord’s day, but will answer any emails Monday through Saturday and although we do not expect any problems, we will do whatever we can to resolve any issues. Here for sale is an absolutely stunning antique Zenith mechanical mantle clock in working order. Seems to be ticking alright and keeping okay time. Probably benefits from a service though. Quite a rare example, usually you only see the zenith travel clocks. Never seen one of these time only ones ESPECIALLY in this case. Looks like someone replaced the screws and used some sort of glue. Hopefully the glue can be scraped off and I would recommend replacing the screws as the actual clock barrel can get quite loose on its own because the screws aren’t original! This is a high quality Raingo clock in excellent original condition, rare for its quality and for its unchipped, uncracked condition after nearly 200yrs. Case – very little rub to original gilding and painting. Movement – 8 day striking hour and half hour on a light tinkering bell suitable for the boudoir. Dial – silvered engine turned – Silver age patinated – can be cleaned if preferred but not recommended. Sizes – Clock – 33x18x13cm. Answer to question;- yes the swinging pendulum is visible from outside the clock. It swings between the bottom of the clock and the base and is quite mesmeric to sit and watch. Sorry That I forgot.
