This is a stunning antique Scottish sterling silver granite (or marble) hinged bangle bracelet dating to the late Victorian/early Edwardian era. It features three plans with a geometric pattern of grey granite with diamond-shaped brownish orange granite centerpieces. There are also some lovely patterns etched into the silver. The photos do not do this justice! The bracelet measures approx. 3/4 inch wide and weighs approx. The exterior circumference is approx. 7 3/4 inches and the interior circumference is approx. It is in good antique condition with light age-related wear to the surface and minor nibbles/scuffs to the granite. I have not polished it and it could use an additional polishing, if desired. It has no hallmarks (not uncommon for the era) but is engraved on the inside with the words: C F B. A scarce and special treasure!

The inlay and the fancy cast brass hinges, as well as the possible use of mahogany, definitely put this piece in the upper echelon of Pennsylvania dutch craftsmanship. I believe it is black walnut or mahogany, inlaid with maple and hollywood. Repair to the lid, minor losses to inlay. Small hand wrought rosehead nails secure the backboard, and hand planing marks are clearly visible. Found in Berks County, but of course it’s possible it was brought over from Germany.

MTS ANTIQUE JEWELLERY BOXES. LOVELY 19C FIGURED MAHOGANY INLAID ANTIQUE JEWELLERY BOX – FAB INTERIOR. 19c figured mahogany veneered restored and repolished jewellery box. In WONDERFUL restored condition. Repair to the left side of the handle. A terrific box in great restored condition. Its great age it in very good shape. The box is inlaid with boxwood to all outer edges. Central cartouche is solid. Along we think is the same for the keyhole. The keyhole escutcheon is not marked silver but we. It to be silver to match the handle. Is for c1838 attributed to Thomas Dicks It could be Thomas Daniell we are not 100% sure as the marks are not that clear. See a silver cartouche with handles on these boxes. The pictures really do not do it justice. IM PRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. All our boxes come with after care instruction.
