Offering this beautiful and very rare early version antique Batty & Co. Mustard pot, from the late 19th century. Featuring a striking blue and white glaze, this stoneware jar reads on the front. WHOLSALE & PICKLE WAREHOUSE? FINSBURY PAVEMENT. HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. (shame on him who thinks evil of it). Were makers of high-class condiments, and their stoneware pots featured vibrant blue and white glazes with bold black transfer-printed letters. Approximate measurements: 4″ tall x 3 ½” wide x 2? Mouth opening. This pot is in overall very good condition, with one minor chip on the top rim. Please view the pictures as your best description of this fantastic pot! I have been sourcing these wonderful antique pots for over 12 years from sources who are actually digging them up in ancient rubbish sites all over England. Our daughter was born there and we enjoyed living in England so much we often went back to visit after returning to the US. Interestingly, this same daughter’s husbands job moved them to London were we have enjoyed visiting our grandchildren and traveling the countryside antiquing. On our many visits we have became friends with many of the “diggers” excavating the ancient dumpsites all over the UK and now source thousands of pots from them every year. I still love the charm they add to every room they are placed in.

A very rare early Spode coffee’can’ (cup / mug), dating to circa 1802, decorated in the striking pattern 441. This elegant design features a salmon-pink ground with intricate gilt scrolls and stylised foliage, framed by fine gold bands. The interior is left plain, highlighting the richness of the exterior decoration. This pattern was introduced at the very beginning of the 19th century and is recorded in the original Spode pattern books. Examples are illustrated on the specialist reference site Antique Spode, where it is noted as one of Spode’s most attractive early gilded designs. Spode, founded in Stoke-on-Trent by Josiah Spode in the late 18th century, played a pivotal role in developing fine English porcelain, including the introduction of bone china. Early decorated pieces such as this coffee can reflect the refinement and innovation that made Spode internationally renowned. Condition: Very good, clean antique condition. No cracks, chips or restoration. Some expected wear to the gilding, particularly around the rim and central band, consistent with age and use. Dimensions: Height: 6.5 cm (2.6 in) Width (including handle): 8.5 cm (3.3 in) Diameter: 6.25 cm (2.5 in) Unmarked, as is typical for this early period. A fine piece of early Georgian Spode porcelain – highly collectable and a wonderful example for any serious Spode or English porcelain collection. ? A lovely survivor, this spoon was made by Daniel Cary. He was well known as a spoon maker. This example is hallmarked for London in 1612. It is in good condition, there may be evidence of an old repair to the deal. Nice set of hallmarks. It measures 16.5cm and weighs 43 grams.

This English diminutive six light chandelier has six arms all individually numbered with punched dots to each arm showing which slots they hook into, corresponding with the dots on the central shaft. The arms are locked in place with an unusual central circular locking plate, screwed down with two hand cut threaded screws. There are some incised lines and dots as naive decoration to the whole. Quite rare to find an English chandelier of this date. It is a very nice early English chandelier and would look fabulous hung in a oak panelled study.
