Incorporates rare hand painted lunar calendar dial with 29 days with painted disc 2 moons. Great project or restoration piece or simply fitted with quartz movement for display purposes. This antique telephone is a rare find, with a unique design that sets it apart from other phones of its time period. Its lack of a dial sets it apart from modern phones, and its early origin makes it a valuable piece for collectors of pre-1940 telephones. I’ve never seen one like this before. Very Early & Rare One Piece Dial Vienna Wall Clock. Nice early and very rare one piece dial Vienna wall clock, these early examples are often referred to as’Biedermeier’. ? They were often made in Austria and not Germany and have much finer cases, which are more subtle and elegant and are certainly better constructed. The enamel dial is surrounded by a’pie crust’ cast bezel which is another early feature. The dial with nice fine hands is in very nice shape but there are a few scratches near the winding holes which are very hard to see. The movement is the lift on type, to the back plaque. The movement is clean with fine wheel work and dead beat? . The beat plaque is silvered brass which is a little faded. There is a key, weight and pendulum. The fine case looks like inlaid walnut? Which is faded in some areas (see photos) it has been in a direct sunlight. The fine crest at the top and bottom are in good condition. Early clocks like this have beautiful proportions and measures 40.5in tall (inc crest) x 11in wide x 4.75in deep. Please don’t confuse this early piece with the much inferior later German versions, this is a hard to find clock of some quality. It runs for 10-15mins then stops so would certainly benefit from a good clean and service. One side of the glass is missing on this excellent find. A nice little project that with a little work will run. Please see photos as it forms part of the description. Please note that I will only accept collection only on this item. This one is early production featuring a solid brass curved mouthpiece, brass cradle and fluted brass shaft. Most have fragile Bakelite mouthpieces. The very rare bells are plated with 24K gold. They will never tarnish. In the early days multiple line telephones were not yet developed. Locations requiring more than one line were supplied with several telephones. Some types: COW BELLS, LIBERTY BELLS, SLEIGH BELLS, “T” BELLS, WOOD BELLS, GLASS BELLS and several sizes of round bells. Bobby bells are among the rarest. Quality & Early Fusee Convex Dial Clock. Delightful and top quality fusee convex dial clock which signed on the dial’Brockbank & Atkins, London’ and numbered’2075′. This clock has the very rare smaller 11in dial, most of these are 12in so the smaller ones are much sort after. The case has damage to the rim and bottom. This clock will need significant restoration so please see all photos to see what is included and its condition. The dial has a great colour and condition perhaps the name and number on the dial could be touched in? This clock has beautifully shaped hands typical of an early clock of this nature. The bezel is nicely case and the hinge and glass are both good however there is no lock present. Both doors are present, the bottom door has one detached hinge (see photos). The movement and dial are original to each other, the movement does have nicely shaped plates but the crutch has had a repair. The pendulum is present but is coming apart but looks original. The case is made of oak with mahogany veneer and has retained its hanging hook (some veneer loss at the bottom). The movement is nice and clean and is ticking away well and the spring is good and fully wound, so this clock might run? I’m sure with a good clean and service that this clock would work well and is priced to allow for the restoration to case etc. This is a very hard to find small size convex dial clock by a top maker requiring a sympathetic restoration.
