This is a Rare and Beautiful Early Victorian Solid Silver Highly Decorative Card Case, this was crafted by the Silversmith Edward Smith and was made in Birmingham 1856 making it 162 years old, this is the most Rare and Stunningly Beautiful Early Victorian Solid Silver Card Case and is Embellished with Fine and Impressive Chased Patterns with a X design in each corner, the Card Case being Rectangle in Design with Smooth Scrolled Border all around the Case, on both sides the Centre appears to have a Cross Design with one side having a Blank Sun Shape Cartouche making it ideal for Engraving, the Card Case design is very similar to the Castle or Cathedral Card Cases. For sale in this lot is a wonderful example of fully animated comical scene, working cast metal folk art weathervane whirligig dating circa 1920s. Both wind propellers work smoothly, and the main propeller once rotated begins the animated scene of the man on the main base hitting the donkey which kicks back his rear legs and in addition the women at the front of the donkey bents forward to pat his head. A truly wonderful kept item that has some great detail and craftsmanship as shown in the photos provided. The item has been mounted onto a thick hard wood board and waxed to give it a very decorative and artistic look. This is a complete original item and would make a wonderful addition to any serious collectors collection or add a great decorative look to any cool interior space. Size: L 30 x H 25 x D 10. This may cost a bit more, but at least you are covered from accidents that may take place whilst in transit.
