While the physical structure aligns with late medieval bookbinding techniques, the artwork features strong stylistic roots from the Early Medieval / Byzantine period approx. The rigid, two-dimensional composition and sacred motifs heavily reflect early Eastern Christian, manuscript traditions. Right Leaf (The Court Scene): Features a crowned monarch or high magistrate in a cerulean tunic and red mantle, seated upon a throne. The scene is framed by red columns and a decorated round arch. Beneath the arch is an ancient inscription showing the word “collecam”. A court official in a blue tunic stands to the side. Left Leaf (The Symbolic Motif): Displays the Fountain of Life, a highly prominent and ancient Byzantine symbol of purity and wisdom. The fountain is flanked by two confronted birds (peacocks or doves), which in early medieval iconography represent immortality, rebirth, and paradise. Size: 207 mm x 108 mm.

This is a VERY RARE hard to find leather journal cover. It features a Buffalo nickel Indian head snap closure for the journal leather cover. It has 2 inner pockets. The journal is in excellent condition for its age. Has a beautiful engraved leather design on the 2 corners. Measurements are in the pictures. Very Rare Early 19thC English Demilune Creamware Bough Pot & Cover – Hackwood? ENGLISH CREAMWARE BOUGH POT. One of several really good pieces of listed this Week…. We are unsure of the maker but our research has found just one similar item considered to be by William Hackwood who worked, on occasion with Wedgwood. (Although this is a much cleaner and fresher example) Additionally, we have found similar decoration on Davenport but not this wonderful demilune shape with bun feet. Therefore – please judge. What is not in doubt is the quality of this piece. It has stately home decoration and, unusually the cover is present and complete. 9 inches / 230 mm across and 190mm tall Overall in good condition with wear commensurate with age. Rare style of Kiswa from the prophetic chamber early 1900s , ottoman design and calligraphy through out. Vintage ottoman Patterns, the inscriptions “Allah & Muhammad” repeated in Arabic on alternating vertical lines. Then the shahdah inscribed “la illaha illallah Muhammad rasul Allah” (There is no deity except Allah and Muhammad is his messenger). Cut from a bigger textile.
