Condition for age as shown. RARE EARLY ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE “Hanging Cage Candle Lantern” NICE EARLY PRIMITIVE. All sides are shown. A couple of the top angled panels have some green patina on them and looks to me like a copper base on all panels but I’m not sure. Its non magnetic because I checked it with a magnet. Nothing on this seems to be magnetic. It might have had glass panels at one time but I’m not sure. There an oblong ring hanging from large top ring thats hand forged from by blacksmith. From the hand forged oblong ring is a small ring with a round shaft that has threads turned on the end. They started turning threads in 1800. That shaft is old in itself. The lantern itself might be a lot older than the threaded shaft which could have been added later. Its got a nice old patina. The sides of the lantern are tapered top to bottom. From top of large ring to bottom of lantern is about 13 & 1/2. Width is about 6 & 1/2″ at top tapered down to 5 & 1/4″ at bottom of lantern. RARE ANTIQUE EARLY 1900’S COLONIAL BRASS ELECTRIC FAN 12 BRASS BLADE AND CAGE. The fan was originally built to be used with direct current that was available in some parts if the US in the early 1900s but the motor burned up prior to my ownership. I replaced the motor and switch with a 110 volt model which makes it user friendly. The finish on the Colonial is bare metal that was coated with linseed oil and baked, several original parts were replaced with brass. The fan is a front oscillator that runs well on all three distinct speeds. Antique French Bontems Singing Bird Cage in great condition, with some patina. Item has all original parts and has not been restored. This sweet treasure sings beautifully.
