Beautiful near matched pair of late Georgian/ early Victorian Minton porcelain encrusted “Florist” vases, dating to around 1830. Highly decorative and richly detailed, each vase features hand-applied floral encrustation, trellis-moulded necks, rococo scroll bases, and fine hand-painted panels-one with flowers, the other with exotic birds. These labour-intensive pieces represent some of Minton’s finest early 19th-century work. The applied flowers, gilding, and painting all show excellent skill and craftsmanship. A very attractive surviving pair. Maker: Minton, possibly Coalbrookdale. Date: c. As is typical for encrusted Minton. Expected small chips/losses to applied flowers. No obvious cracks or structural repairs. Hand-painted panels remain bright and detailed. Gilding in good order. One vase has slightly more flower losses than the other Overall an attractive and rare near pair.

RARE antique Large 25 oak early 19th Century footstool, Prayer Stool, C1830
RARE antique Large 25 inches long oak early 19th Century footstool, Prayer Stool, C1830. Late Georgian early Victorian Oak Stool, unusual length with turned supports and material cover, wood frame and metal cross bars, makes it that bit more unusual. Rare example being 25 x 13 x 13 inches approximately and well made and properly jointed with turned. Nice colour and patina, dates from early 19th century. Been extremely well looked after. Condition is very good, has wear from use over the last 200 years on the legs, the cover looks original also, but overall been very well looked after, please see photos as they form part of the condition report.

C1830 Treen Lignum Vitae Early Go To Bed Match Protector & Striker. Very early go to bed match striker protector circa 1830. Beautiful lignum vitae wood. No external striker, instead two discs (below the bone finial) lined with glass paper. The upper disc lifts so that a match can be inserted and moved to create the friction to light. Overall in good antique condition, screw thread good, some losses to the decorative petal detail, otherwise expect marks, general signs of wear and use commensurate with age and nature of item. RARE EARLY ANTIQUE C1830 FRENCH PARIS PORCELAIN MINIATURE PERFUME SCENT BOTTLE. Offered for your consideration is this charming, rare antique miniature Paris porcelain scent bottle dating circa 1830 and measuring approx. 3.7 cm in length. This laydown bottle has pink and green body with gilt outlines and an oval cartouche at the front in the centre with the handwritten words “A l’amitie'” written in scroll on a white ground. The bottle has a silver gilt screw lid with a fixed bale at the top so that it could be hung from a chain or chatelaine. The bale has a tiny French hallmark. This fine Palais Royal souvenir scent bottle would have been given to a sweetheart as a token of love or friendship and is offered in exceptionally good condition with no flaws noted and is a superb antique miniature perfume bottle for the discerning collector. This is an excellent early American double silhouette/miniature frame. Made with veneered mahogany over pine this little frame has great patina. A skilled craftsman carefully lap jointed the corners and dovetailed each side into the middle support. Early wire hanger, rippled glass and hand chamfered backboards. Measures 6 x 9 1/8 with a 3 7/8 x 5 rabbet for each section. Beautiful little early American frame with great proportions. Please see my other listings for some great frames i have recently listed.
