Antique Early 20th-Century Large Rare Hand-Carved Asian Decorative Wooden Horse
A fabulous large hand-carved wooden decorative horse sculpture standing on its hind legs. From the early 20th-century, it was believed to have been used for precessional purposes in South-East Asia (Thailand, Cambodia). Standing at 2m tall, it is an incredible decorative piece that’s extremely rare, and it will certainly catch lots of attention. Finished in polychrome paint, it’s thought he may have spent some time outside which is why the paint is so distressed. Named Derek (by us), he fully comes apart and is easy to reassemble. There are some minor repairs visible to the tail and front left hoof (please refer to photographers) which could be cleaned up. 2m (height) x 176cm (width from tip of tail to front hoof). Base: 80cm (length) x 39cm (depth). Please note all our items are vintage or antique and will therefore show signs of age and wear, and we try to reflect this in our photographs. Our policy is to offer items such as this of being in an “as found” condition and so we ask you to look closely at the photos as they are an integral part of the description.

This is an exceptionally rare pair of Large Early 19th century Period Polychrome Painted. Carved Asian Stallion Horses with Mughal Warrior Riders. The magnificent, original and unrestored pieces portray a male and female Mughal Warrior Rider, each wearing an Indian Turban, with a pair of ancient-style earrings and carrying a sword on each side. Form, both of the horses and riders are of a stunning patination and each retains remnants of the original paint and pigmentation colours throughout. The horses retain their original Reins, original Bridles and their original Saddles. These period pieces are rare, they are on a grand country house scale, and they both date to at least the early part of the 19th century, and very possibly much earlier! Provenance: Direct from a private collection. Completely original and unrestored. Retaining remnants of the original paint and pigmentation. There are aged-related wood splits in places and a partly broken sword – see images. Ready to be enjoyed immediately. Rare Art Nouveau KPM Berlin Porcelain Amberg Asian Lady Figurine Porzellan Figur. This product data sheet is originally written in English. A very nice figurine made by KPM in the early 20th century during the original period. Almost impossible to find in white from this period and in perfect condition on top of that! It is an Asian lady (I think Chinese) wearing a flowing robe with a parrot on her left hand. She is standing on a simple yet elegant base. This figurine was part of the crown prince’s wedding procession designed by Adolf Amberg and extremely popular among collectors even today though most one sees are newer models! One can see why – a well modeled figurine that is super elegant and left in the white brings this out even more I think! The figurine is in perfect condition with a brown firing spot on the back of her right shoulder neck interface. She displays perfectly and is 10.25 inches tall, 5.625 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. The figure is marked underneath with the older under glaze blue scepter mark as well as the usual impressed marks one finds on older KPM pieces though I cannot make out this year mark. Could be 1927 or 1931. The scepter has a scratch mark in the glaze denoting a second choice due to the brown spot on her shoulder. Hochzeitszug 20thC German Germany Figure Jugendstil antique. The figurine is in perfect condition with a brown firing spot on the back of her right shoulder neck interface. She displays perfectly and is 10.25 inches tall, 5.625 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. The figure is marked underneath with the older under glaze blue scepter mark as well as the usual impressed marks one finds on older KPM pieces though I cannot make out this year mark. Could be 1927 or 1931. The scepter has a scratch mark in the glaze denoting a second choice due to the brown spot on her shoulder. Hochzeitszug 20thC German Germany Figure Jugendstil antique.
