Early Worcester porcelain teapot Dr Wall period, c 1765-80. Feather-moulded and painted in underglaze blue with with floral sprigs and insects: the Feather Mould Floral Pattern. Workman’s mark to the base. Condition: There was impurities in the paste when this was been made, which is not uncommon for pieces of this period. This resulted brownish grit marks throughout the pieces. The end of the spout seems to have gotten too hot in the firing process and has ever so slightly left a mark – see images. There is some other firing faults to the lids rim and the lids underside, small nibble to lid – see images. Spout to handle: 18.5cm.
