Rare EARLY Vintage STARFISH school chart by JUNG KOCH QUENTELL botanical poster
Posted by admin On September 14, 2020
For sale here is an original. Vintage roll down school chart of. This beautifully illustrated chart shows the anatomy of the starfish against a dark background. This is one of the earliest versions of this chart. It is landscape rather than portrait, this change happened when Hagemann came on board with the production. Width (including poles): 113cm. (canvas: 110 x 82cm). CONDITION Printed on paper and backed with canvas, this chart has a black wooden dowel at the top and the bottom. It has spent most of it’s life rolled up in a cupboard. So the colours are still fresh and bright. Obviously these charts are not new. There is often light wear that comes with use on these charts. This chart is in good vintage condition, there are a few creases across the chart and some signs of wear to the edges and top-middle, but this is such a rare chart we think that can be forgiven. These old charts were produced as educational tools for. Schools and colleges by. And biologist Gottlieb von Koch and. First published by Frommann and Morian in the early 1900’s Hagemann became involved in the production around 1928 first in conjunction with Frommann and Morian then on their own from around 1963. You can find modern reprints of these charts from many online sellers but they lack the atmosphere and history of the vintage ones. All of our charts are genuine second hand vintage items sourced from schools and antique markets across Europe. We have many more items for sale, so be sure to check out our shop. Rare Early Herbert Terry Anglepoise 1227 2 Step Black With Perforated Shade
Posted by admin On September 13, 2020
Rare Herbert Terry 1227. This iconic lamp from the makers Herbert Terry and Sons has been restored with a focus on retaining its industrial heritage. Known as the model 1227, this is a highly sought after industrial lamp which is the archetypal of anglepoise. This particular version of the 1227 is a very early model that can be identified through its perforated shade and’wrinkled’ paintwork. This model was produced during the crossover period (which was in the year 1938) between the 3-step and 2-step base. Resultantly, this lamp feautres aspects from both models and is a highly sought after version. The 1227 dates back to the mid 20th century and the anglepoise design was originally created by George Carwardine, an engineer with a specialist background in vehicle suspension systems. As part of the restoration process for this lamp, it was necessary to have a complete electrical upgrade. This has been done using a braided fabric 3-core flex and a British 3-pin plug fitted with a 3-amp fuse. The lamp also comes complete with a low energy LED bulb. This lamp has been fully tested by a qualified electrician. Please note that this lamp does have a repair to the fork block that has been captured in the photos. This repair includes bracing to the fork block on both sides due to damage to one of the forks. The repair on bracing the forks is quality engineering that does not deter from the aesthetic or structural integrity. Consequently, it can be argued that the repair adds to the overall charm of this scarce industrial lamp. Please enquire for quotes to elsewhere. Feel free to ask any questions. Finally, please study the photos as they form pet of the description. If you with you have extra photos of specific areas of this lamp then please enquire. The item “Rare Early Herbert Terry Anglepoise 1227 2 Step Black With Perforated Shade” is in sale since Thursday, July 9, 2020. This item is in the category “Antiques\Antique Furniture\Lamps\20th Century”. The seller is “j.p.interior-retail” and is located in Hilderstone. This item can be shipped to United Kingdom.
