Amazing early antique pair of travel straight razors in unique double stropping case. Double two piece travel case includes two stropping surfaces. Blades measures approximately 0.53 wide at widest point. Both blades marked “WARRANTED”. White ox bone handle scales measure 4.77 long. From an amazing estate collection of antique straight razors. Blades are clean with moderate to heavy hone wear and some light rust. Blades show traces of illegible etching at tops. Scales appear excellent and problem free with light scratches and discoloration. Double stropping case is a bit musty but is solid and presents well with paper label intact. A WONDERFUL AND HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER COLLECTABLE MID VICTORIAN NOVELTY TRAVEL INKWELL IN THE FORM OF A LADY’S LEATHER SHOE/BOOT WITH LACE DETAILING FRONT. ON THE FRONT OF THE BOOT THERE IS A CONCEALED BUTTON THAT RELEASES THE LID TO REVEAL A BRASS INTERIOR AND A SIDE-SPRING CLASP WHICH RELEASES THE BRASS LID TO EXPOSE THE ORIGINAL GLASS REMOVABLE INKWELL AND SEAL. THE PIECE DATES TO THE EARLY TO MID 19TH CENTURY AND COULD POSSIBLY EVEN BE GEORGIAN. THE BODY IS MADE FROM BRASS WITH A GORGEOUS LEATHER COVERING WHICH IS IN NEAR PRISTINE CONDITION. THE SMALL GLASS INKWELL/LINER IS ORIGINAL AND IS UNDAMAGED WITH NO CRACKS OR CHIPS. THE LID OPENS AND OPERATES CORRECTLY AND THE WELL COVER LATCH SPRINGS OPEN PERFECTLY. A VERY RARE AND ATTRACTIVE COLLECTABLE PIECE AND HARD TO FIND IN SUCH GOOD CONDITION ESPECIALLY THE STUNNING CONDITION OF THE LEATHER. IT MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 3.3/4″ IN LENGTH AND 2.1/4″ IN HEIGHT.
