RARE Antique PA GERMAN Early 19th C TIN Punch Decorated SPICE BOX Folk Art- This is a beautifully crafted early tinware spice box- these early boxes are very hard to find. There are some very nice decorative elements such as the raised lines around the box, really nicely made loop pull and the handmade hinge attachments which attach the lid to the bottom of the box, as well as the wonderfully done punch decorated design on the lid of the box and the nicely done solder work. We have found very few similar to this one in over 30 years of collecting. It has excellent naturally darkened patina and is in good to very good antique condition- it shows the natural oxidation of tin, and the solder is is good condition. It is hard to find this type of untouched/uncleaned original aged surface patina. The spice box measures approximately 3.5 in height to to top of lid. It is approx 7″ wide and approx 4.75″ in depth. Offering this antique handmade Wood wall box. Measures 14.75″ L x 7.5″ W and 3 Deep. This piece is in good condition with a tombstone style top. Shows a great natural wear and nice patina. Has a red/bittersweet wash like surface. There is 5 spots at the top for utensils to go inside. There’s also an opening with leather hinges and turned wood shim to keep close. Rare early 19th century. Antique Boxwood Spice Tower. 4 threaded Sections Allspice, Nutmeg, Cloves & Mace. Superb Patina & Aromatic Spices. The Tower has 4 threaded sections. The top is removeable. The 4 compartments, are marked All Spices, Nutmegs, Cloves and the base one is I believe Mace. The top 3 compartments are partially filled (Mace is empty). Photographs and condition report. The jar has a superb patina colour/tone. Approximate dimensions: 20 cm high. (8 inches) x 9 cm diameter (3.5 inches). If I can find a cheaper alternative I will reimburse any excess paid.
