4 Original Spanish arista tiles. 4 rare Hispano Moresque Spanish tiles, made in Seville, Spain. The decoration is made using the Arista technique, which uses relief lines to separate the different glaze colors. These tiles are made in the 16th century. Bottom right tile: Blue-framed lozenge containing large flower head. A design invented by Nicoloso Francisco, Seville C 1520. Size: 12.8 x 12.8 cm and 2.5 cm thick. Top right tile: Examples of this tile are in the Carranza collection, on view at Alcazar palace, Seville. Size: 13.4 x 13.4 cm and 2.7 cm thick. Bottom left tile: Cross-shaped interlaces with brown central star. Size: 12.2 x 12.0 cm and 2.5 cm Thick. This tile was cut to two sides before it was put on the wall. Top left: green flowers within a blue frame. Much wear on surface of this tile, probably used as floortiles. Size:12.5 x 12.5 x 1.9 cm. With damaged you can expect for tiles this age. Chips to sides and surface. Some glaze loss and scratches to glaze. In antique tiles (Medieval, Portuguese, Spanish, Delft, Art Nouveau and Art Deco) and Dutch Delftware from 17th and 18th century. For TACS (Tiles & Architectural Ceramics Society) in England I organize the yearly tile fair in Nottingham. Possible Spanish Boudoir Doll Made in Spain! Very unusual doll with stunning hand painted facial features. Believe her to be a Norah Wellings Doll from the 1930s. She measures 18 tall. Felted wool flowers in her dark braided hair and on her lovely rose colored shawl with silk fringe. Silk stockings and black felt high heel shoes. Her legs bend at the hips and her knees. She does have some moth damage to the under sides of her arms (shown in photos) but this is not noticeable with her shawl on. Row after row of ruffled organza make up the train on her dress. From a private collection, this doll does not become available very often. Please review all photos and ask questions and request more photos if needed.
