Rare Midcentury Danish Rosewood Folding Side Table By Illum Wikkelso / Silkeborg
Very rare and beautiful rosewood triangular folding side table by Illum Wikkelsø for CFC Silkeborg of Denmark, sometime in the 1950s. Ingenius and delicate construction, solid rosewood legs and edging, fabulous flamed veneer to the top, the best I’ve seen. Take a look on the net. These are very few and far between, I have counted two pairs and just three individual examples, none with a veneer as spectacular as this. In beautiful original condition, brass hinges and a neat sprung ball and peg’stop’ for the swing-out gate leg. Nice and firm, no wobbles, reassuringly smooth action. Alas the Silkeborg badge has dropped out of its recess at some point in the past. You will see that to the underside. I found a photograph so you know what to look for when you’re out and about! Height: 16.93 in. Width: 18.71 in. Depth: 18.71 in. Collection would be preferred. Please check all the photographs, and don’t forget the enlargement facility. Any questions, please ask. This item is in the category “Antiques\Antique Furniture\Tables”. The seller is “apocrypha001″ and is located in this country: GB. This item can be shipped to United Kingdom.

RARE FORM Antique 19th C Tinsmith Made SIDE Wooden HANDLE Chocolate POT OOAK
It is a beautiful example and a rare form of a Tinware Chocolate Pot. It has a great and rare form and it is in really good condition for its age and use. It has the wonderful side wooden handle and has no spout as is a shared feature for a lot of chocolate pots. It is a flat base and has some very old solder repairs on the top of the rim base – done very nicely and only mentioned for accuracy sake. I have not seen this form before and even in our research for listing this -I have not seen an exactly similar example. It stands approximately 4.5″ tall to the top of the finial and approx 7.25″-7.5″ long with handle included and the base measuring approx 3.75″ X 2 7/8 diameter base-excluding the wooden handle. It is free from holes and has some surface patina that you want to see on your antiques- some minor dentsoxidation and surface wear- some minor wear to wooden handle- the handle is a little loose as the wood may have shrunk over the years. Please see our other listings as we are listing quite a few tin accessories including lighting, coffeepots, etc. View my other auctions for additional fine period items. This will make a nice addition to your Antique Early Tinware or Decorative Accessories collection.. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”. Rare Early 18th Century All Wood Foot Warmer W Unusual Side Door Opening & Pan
Early 18th century foot stove / foot warmer. Early example and rare to be made all of wood rather than the usual tin panels. I believe it to be made of cherry wood, and it is constructed with square nails. Unique and unusual to have a slide up lid opening on the side wall. Wonderful to have the original sheet iron liner pan still inside. The pan is even well made with a nice finger ring handle. The top of the warmer has a swing handle, and it is perforated on all sides with holes for decoration and also to let the heat out. It measures 6 5/8 inches tall by 9 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. Excellent condition , all complete. Rare early and unusual example, perfect to add to any early primitive collection. Thick, sturdy and quite weighty. Similar example can be referenced in G Neumanns book Early American Antique Country Furnishings , pg 327. Rare Early Eero Saarinen for Knoll Side Chairs
For your consideration are a pair of rare and early Eero Saarinen for Knoll side chairs. These early production examples are evidenced by the unusual base structure and “Knoll Associates” label on the underside. The earliest of these chairs featured a single base on an aluminum frame with a parallel bar structure; the design was soon changed to feature two sets of legs on a chromed frame. This early example also has a fiberglass interior shell; modern production chairs have been changed to a plastic shell due to environmental concerns. Here is a chance to own a piece of design history from one of the masters of mid century design. The chairs reflect Saarinen’s graceful and organic style. One can see the same shape in these chairs as is reflected in his architecture, including iconic buildings such as the TWA terminal at JFK and the St. The upholstery is not original. The item “Rare Early Eero Saarinen for Knoll Side Chairs” is in sale since Wednesday, December 26, 2018. This item is in the category “Antiques\Periods & Styles\Mid-Century Modernism”. The seller is “joshlamiel” and is located in Oakland, California. This item can be shipped worldwide.

Rare early 18th william & mary oak side chair circa 1730 Quebec turned legs seat
BEAUTIFUL OAK SIDE CHAIR. WILLIAM & MARY PERIOD. About 16″ x 12″ x 31 1/2. 14 1/2 height to seat. Wonderful solid oak side chair. Probably Quebec, Canada, origin. “Picture frame” back with cyma curve borders. Pegged mortise and tenon joint construction. Flat, single plank seat with molded edges, slightly trapezoidal shape, secured with small wooden pegs. Pegged mortise and tenon construction. Block and turned legs and stretcher with “H” form lower stretcher. Full length feet, not cut down. At first, I thought the “picture frame” back was designed to hold some kind of upholstered pad. But that is not correct. It was designed to be open, as indicated by the curved upper and lower borders, fitting flush to the back, and intended to be visible from the front. A similar example is in the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in Manhattan, New York City (visible through wikimedia commons), and another with the non-profit organization Furnishing New France. Strong and sturdy, all joints tight. Fabulous old oak patina. A RARE EXAMPLE OF EARLY EIGHTEENTH CENTURY NORTH AMERICAN FURNITURE. The item “Rare early 18th william & mary oak side chair circa 1730 Quebec turned legs seat” is in sale since Tuesday, October 1, 2019. This item is in the category “Antiques\Furniture\Chairs\Pre-1800″. The seller is “allenpeach” and is located in Tenants Harbor, Maine. This item can be shipped worldwide.
