Antique C1880 Red scent Perfume bottle Grand Tour Rare Painted Scene Example
Lovely antique French blue glass scent bottle with ormolu decoration, adorned with painted plaque. I believe would have been bought as a Grand Tour souvenir. Stunning quality item in excellent condition. 10.5 cm tall. IN VERY NICE CONDITION DESPITE ITS 142YEARS OF AGE & USE SHOWING very MINOR WEAR, BOTH The bottle and stopper ARE IN PERFECT UNDAMAGED CONDITION. PERFECT FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR. This would make a stunning present gift. THERE ARE SOME very LIGHT SCRATCHES TO THE GLASS BUT NO CRACKS or chips. Reassuring to also see slight imperfections in the glass which guarantees it is an early version. THE “FLIP TOP” MECHANISM IS IN FULL WORKING ORDER AS IS THE PERFECT RARE GLASS STOPPER. The polished Pontil mark at the base is a great way to tell it’s early age. I have approximately 300 antique perfume bottles which I have taken many years collecting. (see a few in picture 11). I have also included a picture of part of my 750 strong collection of Sampson Mordan in picture 12. Obviously these are not included in the price of this item, just for reference. If you want spotless then the high street is for you, but if you want a great antique that will appreciate in price with age then this is for you. You don’t get this by messing people about. Iam a trusted honest reliable EBAYer. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Please look at all my other great items I have for sale.

1912 Rare Royal Doulton Square Vase Dutch Scene Ethel Beard & Leslie Harradine
1912 Rare Royal Doulton Square Vase Dutch Scene. Ethel Beard & Leslie Harradine. Tube Lined Scene of Dutch’Goose-Girl’ Fully Impressed Inc AH Incised. AH – Ada Tosen, Senior Assistant at Royal Doulton. This a very rare and very valuable Royal Doulton vase of square form, that is then tube lined to create a scene of a Dutch girl rounding up a goose from the lightly wooded field. It is a most attractive vase and the two main panels are highlighted against a classic Doulton blue green glazed ground, a short run of an incredible Arts & Crafts piece, that for every successful vase were several firing failures, as each piece went under several firings to such fine vases. This vase was created at a time when Continental Art Nouveau had a short lived influence before Doulton found their own expression, their own Art Nouveau style. Very few survived the manufacturing process and even fewer survived the 110 years since it went on sale for less than 12 months, before the outbreak of WW1 stopped most manufacturing that was not war effort focussed, or the production staff were not called up to fight or work on supplying the frontline. These amazing pieces of art were designed and produced by Ethel Beard and Leslie Harradine, two of the very great names at Royal Doulton, assisted by one of the Senior Assistants Ada Tosen. Ada worked as an assistant to some of the great early names of Doulton, from about 1880 to about the 1920s. This significant and amazing vase was as a result of such wonderful partnerships being at Doulton, prior to WW1, and this is one of their best pieces in my opinion. The vase is approx. 21.5cms tall, approx. 16cms wide and approx. 10cms deep, being in amazing condition, which is remarkable for a vase of 110 years old, a true and rare antique that is highly collectable. I cannot honestly see any restorations or repairs and the impressed marks on the base are correct. The most wonderful of decorations and it needs a home that can admire and protect it in equal measures. The pictures do not do it justice at all, but are important to show the condition. Very Early Antique Musical Snuff Box 2 Air C. 1820 Swiss Rare Painting Scene
This little Musical Box is one of the very early types, also used as a snuff box, from about 1820. No makers name, signs or tune names! This musical snuff box would have been carried around in the gentlemans pocket and used as form of portable entertainment! What makes this a little different is the hand painted picture in the lid, decorated with a gold border and gold frame, silver tab and hinge and a tortoiseshell case. One of the main characteristics of this being an early movement is the segmented comb, it is split in to sections rather than one long piece of steel as found on later musical boxes. It also has the teeth going from treble to bass (left to right) rather than bass to treble and the governor top is vertical rather than at an angle, two signs of it being a very early piece. Another is the detail in the music, earlier boxes have much more elaborate arrangements and a gentler tone. Please watch the videos to enjoy this almost 200 year old musical antique! Google : The Music Box Restorer. Below you will find two videos showcasing both airs. Thank you for watching! Very Early Antique Musical Snuff Box. Segmented Comb, Silver and Gold.
