Rare 18th C. Early Colonial Coin Silver Rattail Dessert Spoon
This rare and handsome piece remains in varying condition (please see condition report for specifics and exceptions), bears no monogram or erasure, and lays in wait for the collector! I have had so many inquiries about the hallmark. I took this to Skinner Auctions and they immediately identified it as James Geddy. They do not do authentications unless you pay. I have finally located their source. Many have not because it is under the name James Geddes-same person son of gunsmith James Geddes of Williamsburg Va. Please scroll through the photos until you come across the Ensko Guide to American Silversmiths- a must have reference for early coin. Decide for yourself please. Length: 6 1/4in (16cm). Weight: 0.87 troy oz (27g). The item “RARE 18TH C. EARLY COLONIAL COIN SILVER RATTAIL DESSERT SPOON” is in sale since Thursday, April 16, 2020.
