EARLY 2 STEP ANGLEPOISE 1227 BY HERBERT TERRY & SONS. DATES FROM THE LATE 1930s. RARE SOLID BRASS ARMS. TWO TIER SPRING BAR. MID ARM TENSIONING BOLT. MATT OLIVE GREEN PAINTWORK. THE LAMP HAD BEEN BADLY OVERPAINTED WITH THICK INDUSTRIAL PAINT. THE LAMP HAS BEEN STRIPPED AND FULLY RESTORED. THE PAINTWORK HAS BEEN REFRESHED IN MATT OLIVE GREEN (COMPLIMENTS THE BRASS ARMS). SOME LIGHT SCUFFING OF THE PAINT ON THE FORK (SEE PIC 12). THE SHADE IS FREE OF ANY MAJOR DENTS (A COUPLE OF SMALL PINHEAD CREASES). FULLY WORKING, BUT NOT CURRENTLY PAT TESTED (YOU ARE ADVISED TO GET IT CHECKED). REWIRED WITH 3 CORE VINTAGE FLEX AND FITTED WITH A NEW BRASS, SWITCHED BULB HOLDER (COULD EASILY BE REPLACED WITH A CRABTREE). HOLDS ITS POSITION WELL. An exceedingly rare piece. A special Victorian-era ultra rare Heubach masterpiece. From my own collection. A young girl and her cat companion. Put on a performance. The cat looks at a songbook and. Sings in the most lovely cat voice. I call it “The Parlor Perfomance” – think Jane Austen’s “Emma”. And the importance of the Victorian parlor as a place to. Show off one’s musical talents… The young lady wears a ruffled day cap trimmed with blue. Bow, an Empire-style pale yellow dress with a giant bow. To the back, plunging square neckline and high waist. Pouf sleeves and long gloves, matching silk shoes. This is clearly a Georgian outfit, putting the girl. Even the cross necklace was very in vogue then! A large piece, striking on display at 16 inches tall and heavy. As well, with a closed base, a sign of early sculpting, mid 1800s. When pieces were not hollowed out much; it weighs. Plus points : Ultra rare in 30 years of collecting. I’ve never seen another, charming subject matter. Large size, excellent condition! A contemporary of John Burt who designed and created a caster for David’s son William and his wife-to-be, must have been quite an honor! Northey has pieces at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the famous silver collection at Yale University. In addition, he was master to his children who became well-known silversmiths-a family of makers! The delicate shellback which remains largely intact as far as wear goes, makes this wonderful spoon special, indeed. Early RARE- Antique- Primitive Wooden Gameboard. Definitely unique and one of a kind game board. Could have been used for some type of marble game- the little round groove holes could have been used to keep the marbles in place without rolling around. There are 100 holes- numbered in red 1 thru 100. The board folds in half with the use of hinges (which are in good condition) on the right side you can see a couple age cracks (shown) but nothing serious. Overall dimensions are 14 1/2 long x 12 1/2 wide x 5/8 thick. Would look great hanging on a wall or sits just fine standing up with it slightly folded.
