A famous maker, Benjamin Burt, of Boston made this wonderful shellback serving spoon sometime between the mid to late 1700s. Master gold and silversmith, Mr. Burt both learned the trade from his equally famous father John, and his siblings, and was master to many other notable makers. This incredibly strong looking spoon, is just that-no skimping on silver content here, and the sweet shell just above the drop makes it his very own brand of spoon. A special spoon approaching 300 years old has the longevity to tell a story, and this one’s written all over it in character! A superb Art Deco octagonal facet cut glass vase decorated with alternating panels cut with stylised rounds and ovals, circa 1920s-30s, likely designed by Josef Hoffman. The vase measures, 16.5cm tall and 11.5cm in diameter. The vase is in very good condition, there are a couple of tiny nibbles to bottom edge of two of the panels, which aren’t visible until turned upside down, please see picture 5. Up for sale is a really fun CH Brannam dog figure with glass eyes. He was made I believe during the WW1 period & as was common at that time shows an injured dog. He is in good order apart from a tail break repair as shown in the images. These Brannam figures are very hard to find in any condition.
