Description: For your consideration is a pair of Rare Early Antique Pair of Worcester Dr Wall Period Pre-1793 Sauce / Gravy Boats. These are extremely rare pair of sauce/gravy boats are from Dr. The outside of these sauce/gravy boats are decorated with white high glazed roses & fuchsias, blue flowers by spout and handle. The inside of these boats are decorated in dark blue underglaze tranfer pattern of flowers. The boats are about 6 & 3/4th inches long from mouth to handle and about 3 & 3/4th inches high. Each are shaped to have four peaks around the rim. Each have four peaks around the rim and a big thumb rest. Remarkable condition as they are about 250 years old. One is in perfect condition. The other has a tiny chip on one of the peaks – otherwise in perfect condition. Please look at pictures as they accurately depict the beauty and condition of the set. Rare early Berlin figure of a boy eating grapes, modelled seated with basket of grapes to one side, arm raised with bunch before his mouth, dressed in yellow breeches and flower embroidered coat, on a low base with gilt rococo scrolls. A rare and highly collectible and hard to find American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Bishops Hat Bowl. The piece though not signed has been identified as the Primrose pattern made by Tuthill Glass Company circa 1900. It has a large overlap rim which when turned over, looks like a Bishop’s Hat. Tuthill’s excellent reputation as one of the finest and most inspired American Brilliant Period Cut Glass makers was based on a style that was practiced with a high degree of precision on excellent blanks and combines stone wheel engraving with brilliant geometric cutting. The bowl combines a beautiful intaglio floral border on the rim with three rows of punties around the bowl and a sparkling geometric mirror star on the bottom. The glass is heavy, clear and bright. There is one small bite witch is highlighted in two photos.. One is a closeup, one shows the size of the flaw in relation to the total size of the piece. Slight amount of ware on bottom. A fine late Commonwealth period silver Puritan spoon in the simple elegant style of the period. The Puritans did not approve of unnecessary ornamentation and this is reflected in the plain design and functionality of this rare survivor, which historically belongs between the earlier Seal Top and Apostle spoons, which had hexagonal stems, and the trefid spoons with their flat stems and oval bowls which came over with the Royal Court from France at the time of the Restoration. Owing to the short duration of their popularity and the scarcity of silver at this period in English history due to the demands of the war, Puritan spoons are very rare and sought after. The Spoon has the initials’RM’ engraved on the back of the stem, together with the London town mark, struck twice, and a maker’s mark TA above a mullet and two pellets, which is recorded on page 124 of Jackson’s’Silver and Gold Marks’. The date mark is worn away, and was in all probability poorly struck originally; you can see where it was on the upper stem, but only a small indent remains. There is a lovely crisp London Town mark in the bowl. This is a particularly pleasing and tactile spoon, smaller than some examples, in super collector’s condition, with no damage or repair and having a good colour. TA London 1655 – 1660.
