Rare antique Japanese miniature / model of a rickshaw, early 20th century
This is a very finely made early 20th century Japanese model of a rickshaw with retractable hood in good condition. The highly detailed model which is almost entirely made from pieces of natural shell with the exception of the metal handles, wheel spokes, and brackets and pins that join the pieces of shell together. The hood comprises three overlapping sections. Dimensions: 17.5 cm length x 7 cm width. Condition: The condition given the delicate nature of the model is very good. It appears to be complete down to the two lights either side of the cab. Apart from being a little dirty there is just one crack in the shell, sitting behind the right-side light fitting (most visible on the last photograph – it’s the furthest light fitting). I WANT TO SELL HIM…… I HAVE 2, AND I WANT A TIGER…….. THIS IS THE WONDERFUL, RARE, HOBO CHARACTER, FROM SHOENHUTS HUMPTY DUMPTY CIRCUS. He measures 8 /20.3cm to the top of his head. He was really very grubby when he came to me, and would not stand, but he is 100 years old! I have gently washed his costume and restrung him, so that he now poses well. He has lost his jacket. His belt is a replacement as is his hat, I think. HE IS FAIRLY RARE. THERE ARE NONE IN THE UK. PLEASE EXAMINE THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY AS THEY DO FORM PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. This listing is for an antique Ansonia mantel clock. This rare clock is referred to as a “swinger” or a “mystery” clock. This one is an early “tin can” model. This clock is composed of a statue of a woman and a clock that sways back and forth in her hand. The clock appears to be in overall good condition. We got it professionally tuned up and had the suspension repaired in August of this year. It ran when tested. Notes indicate that the colors on the statue were touched up in 2010. The repairman informed us that this is an Ansonia and that many of these mystery/swinger clock movements are not stamped with the Ansonia logo. Very rare early R. “Model A” sewing machine in fine condition. Feed dog spring, tension spring and retaining nut for that replaced, all other parts original. Even needle is original WANZER branded. Comes with original granite base. Rotates easily and you can sew with this, but it makes skip stitches here and there, I believe reason being loose spring keeping shuttle in place.
