Offered for your careful review and consideration is this thrilling, simply gorgeous, absolutely outstanding and incredibly clean, estate fresh and just recently discovered, very rare dated 1806, 215 year old Ame ri can Federal period, early 19th century New England antique primitive schoolgirl needlework sampler,’wrought by Mg (Maggie or Margaret) Kohl in 1806. It was removed from a well-appointed and loaded southern New Hampshire fine early estate and is about as clean as any reasonable person could every hope such an early sampler to be, after a few centuries of existence. Aside from being made before the War of 1812, this Maggie Kohl signed and dated 1806 color needlework sampler on fine linen, has no tears, noticeable or depreciating stains, tanning or other depreciating surface damage. The thread colors of vermillion green, slate blue, cerulean blue, berry red and gold are nearly undiminished by light. It’s likely it was stored away from the harmful effects of light, perhaps in a chest of drawers or secretary, since it’s now in a later walnut frame. Absolutely untouched and in just incredible overall antique condition. The frame isn’t right. Very Good to Excellent antique condition.
