Lovely antique French blue glass scent bottle with ormolu decoration, adorned with painted plaque. I believe would have been bought as a Grand Tour souvenir. Stunning quality item in excellent condition. 10.5 cm tall. IN VERY NICE CONDITION DESPITE ITS 142YEARS OF AGE & USE SHOWING very MINOR WEAR, BOTH The bottle and stopper ARE IN PERFECT UNDAMAGED CONDITION. PERFECT FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR. This would make a stunning present gift. THERE ARE SOME very LIGHT SCRATCHES TO THE GLASS BUT NO CRACKS or chips. Reassuring to also see slight imperfections in the glass which guarantees it is an early version. THE “FLIP TOP” MECHANISM IS IN FULL WORKING ORDER AS IS THE PERFECT RARE GLASS STOPPER. The polished Pontil mark at the base is a great way to tell it’s early age. I have approximately 300 antique perfume bottles which I have taken many years collecting. (see a few in picture 11). I have also included a picture of part of my 750 strong collection of Sampson Mordan in picture 12. Obviously these are not included in the price of this item, just for reference. If you want spotless then the high street is for you, but if you want a great antique that will appreciate in price with age then this is for you. You don’t get this by messing people about. Rare Early 1800s French Opaline and Eglomise Grand Tour Souvenir, Small Basket, 2 Architectural Views of Paris. All items and photos are the express property of Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. We’ve just bought the collection of a longtime good customer, and will have 31 pieces in all listing soon. The term, “eglomise” refers to a decorative technique of painting on the backside of glass. These are each little works of art. The collection varies from c. Will describe each as listed. This is an early one, a rare purplish-white opaline glass, an ormolu cased bonbon basket with 2 lift-up lids, each with their own mother of pearl-accented 1 1/8 round architectural paintings. The two scenes are le Odelisk and Napoleon’s Triumphal Arch in front of the Louvre. Photos show the fine details, condition, measurements. Very good to excellent condtion throughout for age and type. No chips or flaws on the old early 1800s opaline glass, and no dents or losses on the intricate ormolu. The lids are not made with clasps, each side rises like a basket’s sides. And the center hinge is a pin-hinge, both sides connecting but totally functional. Measurements noted on photos. The addition of mother of pearl behind sections of the paintings gives this one shimmer of rainbow at angles of view. We’re easy to deal with. You are very important! Century circa 1810 solid bronze Italian Grand tour sculptures of winged Sphinxes. There are multiple high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of this page. This pair are magnificent, they are and original pair and have been together for the best part of 200 years, they are free from damage, everything is present and correct. One of the bases has been restored and a new piece of timber applied. Height:- 8.9cm. Rare Original Early 19th Century Roman Grand Tour Rosso Antico Marble Lion Bath

Century Roman Grand Tour Rosso Antico marble bath with Lion head detailing. This bath is stunning, I have never seen one of this size before, they are usually around 40% smaller, this must weigh 30kgs / 66lbs approximately. It has the Lions head to the front, rings either side, the marble is thick and with a beautifully veined patina. The marble on this is very thick and as mentioned it has a glorious vein, it looks to have a crack running all the way around, I dont think its ever broken because there are no signs of repair, it over 170 years old so we can forgive it some patina marks, most collector like to see some ware and damage, it helps to prove the age. Rare Antique Rio Grand Pueblo Katsina 20 Tall 1920’s to early 1930’s Kachina

The Katsinas from Rio Grande Pueblo (from now New Mexico) are much rarer than Hopi Katsinas although stylistically they are similar. They Rio Grande Pueblo Katsinas are usually made of pine wood, versus cottonwood by the Hopi. Age 1920’st to early 1930’s. Condition: Please refer to pictures, stable crack along body of Kachina, one of the arms was reattached, some paint loss commensurate with age. The turquoise color was once more deep blue and age turns it turquoise, one of the great signs of an authentic older katsina. Katsina primarily refers to the supernatural beings who are believed to visit Hopi and other Pueblo villagers during half of the year. Katsinas have the power to bring rain, exercise control over the weather, help in many of the everyday activities of the villagers, punish offenders of ceremonial or social laws, and, in general, to function as messengers between the spiritual domain and mortals.
