ESTATE FROM PRIVATE COLLECTION. Rare antique circa 1890`s CAC Ceramic Art Company (pre- Lenox) porcelain mug with football or rugby scene. Looks like signed by artist Kemp? CAC was started in 1889 by Lenox and John Coxon. Lenox bought Coxon out in 1906 and the name was changed. CAC (ceramic art company)was founded in 1889 by Walter Scott Lenox and John Coxon. Lenox bought Coxon out in 1906 and name was changed to Lenox’s. From the start, it was organized as an art studio and not as a factory. It did not produce a full range of ceramic articles but rather one-of-a-kind artwares. The company at first had just eighteen employees. Lenox’s products were first displayed at The Smithsonian Institution in 1897. According to the famous book. By Shirley & Jerry Sprung, Walter Scott Lenox founded the Ceramic Art Company in Trenton, NJ in 1889, but Lenox assumed complete control around 1895. In 1906, the name was changed to Lenox China Company. The early pieces marked CAC for Ceramic Art Company are coveted by collectors. Rare Vintage Rascal Figure of the Benfica Football Club in faience Caldas da Rainha. Vintage Rascal Figure made in clay from Caldas da Rainha representing Benfica Football Club player. Benfica’s flag doll covering intimate parts, pulls the string and lifts. Red gear, with a ball on his feet. It is part of the famous earthenware of Caldas da Rainha in which the various pieces had this element. It’s long gone but they are one of the most characteristic dolls of Caldas da Rainha. Good condition despite the time it have. Nothing is broke and everything working. Target fans all over the world of Benfica Football Club, the biggest club in Portugal. One of the rarest pieces to show up because you don’t sell.. 5.5 cm x 5 cm x 18 Height cm. All sales final with no return privileges. These 1920s all original top of the line antique Scholar model footballbshould leather pads and very high quality antique rare football shoulder pads l are in shape shape inside and out Stamped onto the front right chest pad – neat All leather Carmel brown leather 2 tier circular outer leather circular pads – is the Ed Rosenberg of Coach THISTLEWAITE (see close up) – SEE CLOSE UP PHOTOS AND stamping deeply engraved – Must See close up photo – left corner stamping – wow!!! Glenn Franklin Thistlethwaite (March 18, 1885 October 6, 1956) was an American football, basketball, baseball, and track and field coach. He served as the head football coach at Illinois College (1908), Earlham College (19091912), Northwestern University (19221926), the University of WisconsinMadison (19271931), Carroll Collegenow known as Carroll Universityin Waukesha, Wisconsin (19321933), and the University of Richmond (19341941), compiling a career college football record of 1177416. Coaching at Northwestern from 1922 to 1926, Thistlethwaite compiled a 21171 record, making him one of the most successful coaches in Northwestern Wildcats football history. In 1926, his team won a share of the Big Ten Conference title, only the second in school history, and his tenure sparked a revival in Northwestern football after a post-World War I decline. Up for sale is an awesome late Old Antique 1930s 8 spoke exterior Macgregor Sporting Goods (see stamping on the interior leather brown harness) VINTAGE thick Black ALL Leather Football Helmet (vibrant white stitching). The antique beaut Circa gridiron Helmet measures to Adult size 7 1/4 model number see silver stamping on the back leather panel and stamped into the interior harness – wow!! Please see all photos – front thick padded leather with all stitching tight and complete interior eight spoke harness with center pad – awesome shape – see several photos (note – small section cut on interior) ; note – you can also see the Deep Macgregor Sporting Goods stamping on the interior middle circular harness; stitching tight and thick and clean throughout – great overall look!
