Posted by admin On September 27, 2023
ANTIQUE COLONIAL STYLE EYEGLASSES, SLIDING SIDES COSTUME, RARE EARLY OPTICAL. Very Rare Antique Eye Glasses, c. With Sliding Side Bows (stamped 18 on outside of bow). VERY NICE, early pair of antique eye-glasses measuring approximately 4.5″ across the front with the bow length measuring 4-1/8″ unextended x 6 extended. Excellent condition overall although light scratches on the lense. ANTIQUE GLASSES ARE ALWAYS NICE, AND THIS PAIR HAS IT ALL FOR ANY COLLECTION OF EARLY PERIOD PERSONAL ITEMS OR EYEGLASSES DISPLAY OR COLLECTION. YOU COULD ALSO REPLACE LENSES WITH YOUR OWN PRESCRIPTION LENSES, If desired, FOR A REALLY GREAT EARLY 1800 LOOK!!! Lenses have nice “extending” side bows to help adjustment to different size heads. They also have holes on the end, which would allow for a ribbon or cord to be fed through and tied, to help hold them on if they were not tight enough. Really nice, early style, AND STILL IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION with both lenses intact. Complete and usable or a nice item to add to a variety of collections. Also, could be used as props in theatre productions or with Halloween costumes. Last photo is not glasses you will recieve but shows a similar pair dating C. Please refer to the photos as they are part of the description.

It looks good for what it is and it should still be in working order everything seems nice and sturdy. Posted by admin On June 26, 2022
Very Rare, Very Early Antique Eye Glasses, c. 1790 – 1800, With Sliding “Adjustable” Side Bows. Scans show it all….. VERY NICE, VERY early pair of antique eye-glasses. ANTIQUE GLASSES ARE ALWAYS NICE, AND THIS PAIR HAS IT ALL FOR ANY COLLECTION OF EARLY PERIOD PERSONAL ITEMS, OR AN EYEGLASS DISPLAY OR COLLECTION. YOU COULD ALSO REPLACE LENSES WITH YOUR OWN PRESCRIPTION LENSES, If desired, FOR A REALLY GREAT ORIGINAL EARLY 1800 LOOK!! Lenses on these are not oval, but actually have a slightly modified 8-sided octagonal shape, as shown in some of the scans, typical of this period. They also have nice “extending” side bows to help adjustment to different size and shape heads. They also have “holes” on each end of the bows, which would allow for a ribbon or cord to be fed through and tied around the head, to help hold them on if they were not tight enough. Really nice, early style, AND STILL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION!! One of the bow hinges has a very small period repair to the pin where it joins the front, but otherwise the pair is perfect and both bows are original and match. Nice, because often the extending bows/mechanisms and front which are often broken or bent or don’t match. Both lenses are original and match. Complete and usable or a nice item to add to a variety of collections. Also, could be used as props in theatre productions or with Halloween costumes, etc. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!! Rare Antique Early 1900’s Colonial Brass Electric Fan 12 Brass Blade And Cage
Posted by admin On September 15, 2020
RARE ANTIQUE EARLY 1900’S COLONIAL BRASS ELECTRIC FAN 12 BRASS BLADE AND CAGE. The fan was originally built to be used with direct current that was available in some parts if the US in the early 1900s but the motor burned up prior to my ownership. I replaced the motor and switch with a 110 volt model which makes it user friendly. The finish on the Colonial is bare metal that was coated with linseed oil and baked, several original parts were replaced with brass. The fan is a front oscillator that runs well on all three distinct speeds. Rare 18th C. Early Colonial Coin Silver Rattail Dessert Spoon
Posted by admin On May 19, 2020
This rare and handsome piece remains in varying condition (please see condition report for specifics and exceptions), bears no monogram or erasure, and lays in wait for the collector! I have had so many inquiries about the hallmark. I took this to Skinner Auctions and they immediately identified it as James Geddy. They do not do authentications unless you pay. I have finally located their source. Many have not because it is under the name James Geddes-same person son of gunsmith James Geddes of Williamsburg Va. Please scroll through the photos until you come across the Ensko Guide to American Silversmiths- a must have reference for early coin. Decide for yourself please. Length: 6 1/4in (16cm).
