France, early 1900’s, made of bronze. Height (without chain) : 11 1/4″ , total height : 22″. Good overall condition, solid bronze, rare piece : I never had one of that shape for sale, with carvings on glass, old (ceramic socket). My name is Greg, I’m a French guy who had business in Charlotte NC for 3 years. Unfortunately, I had to move back to France because of a slow activity. I fell in love with the US, particulary Charlotte! So now my only goal is to return to Charlotte, and for that I want to export French furnitures and antiques there! This idea came because of my love for wood and history. It is a great area to find valuable furnitures and smalls because of the proximity of wealthy ski resorts like Megève and Chamonix Mont-Blanc. It is also close to Geneva (switzerland), about 45minutes by car. The Geneva area is one of the richest in Europe due to finance and whatchmaking. Italy’s not to far as well, 40 minutes. So when you’re living and picking in this kind of environment, It is not rare to come across real pieces of art and history. Here is a true rarity in antique lighting… A miniature 18th or early 19th century 2-candle “chandelier”… And I’m calling it a chandelier only because its designed to be hung. Overall width is 9 3/4″, height, excluding the two sections of wire for hanging, 7 3/4″ (the two wire sections add 11 1/2). The sole apology is the small age crack shown in my 7th picture and the tack someone inserted many moons ago for no apparent reason. Antique French, Rare Chandelier, Empire Period, Gilt Bronze, Early 19th Century. Chandelier says to “the Antique”. French bronze work with double patina, gilded bronze and brown patina bronze. Cassolette model with 6 sconces simulated by ” cornucopia ” supported by female masks. The bottom of the cassolette is decorated with palmettes and a central bud , the top of the cassolette is finished by a flame. The whole is maintained by 3 chains united by a crown decorated with a bud and palmettes. Bronze work is of very high quality. This chandelier is rare because it is vintage, circa 1810 , a lot of Empire chandelier dates from the end of the 19th century or the 20th century. The model that we offer dates from the early 19th century, the bronzes are gilding original (it is used in places), the brown patina of the rest is also original (it also has a lot of wear) but the whole is original which is rare. We can if you wish to carry out the electrification, but you can also use the chandelier in decoration with candles, as at the time. It is a very beautiful object, entirely in solid bronze. Height: (76cm) 29.92 in. Diameter (46cm) 18.11 in. Weight (8.07kg) 17.79 lbs. Please look at the photos closely, they are an integral part of the description. Straight and solid with the usual amount of scratches and scratches from their many years of use.
