Please feel free to make an offer. I believe this is a Large Early 17th Century Unusual & Rare Antique Key, but please do your own research. It has a great shape, quality & a very tactile & a nice item. It is handmade & not hollow but of solid construction. In expected condition for an item of this age & nature. The opening mechanism is very elaborate. You can also see historical wear marks on the shaft from the door plates. Approx just over 7 1/2 in total length & weights approx 194 grams. It’s shaft is slightly tampered & turning handle is quite elaborate. I’d expect it was for a Castle door or certainly a prestigious building of some sort. ANTIQUE WOODEN TOY FORT CASTLE. THIS IS A RARE OLD TOY CASTLE, WITH DRAWBRIDGE. MAKER AND REGION OF MANUFACTURE UNKNOWN. IT MAY WELL BE A COMPLETELY HOME MADE PIECE, AND IT HAS BEEN WONDERFULLY HAND PAINTED. In 100% original condition. Dates to around the 1920’s, possibly older. I can’t find another like it! Due to value and size this will be posted via courier. In good overall condition. All but one of the little square pieces from the castellated walls are missing, and the piece of wood that slots in the base to store it all away is incomplete and broken. There is damage to most parts (dents, scuffs, small cracks, etc), most notably the drawbridge entrance which has broken. However, with age and rarity in mind, it is still very good overall. Rare large Antique Rocking Horse on Bow Rocker with Scottish Castle provenance… Circa 1830 – 1860. This beautiful large antique bow rocking horse who previously resided in one of Scotlands well known castles & comes with genuine provenance, is now looking for a loving appreciative home. Refurbished many years ago whilst still resident at Cassilli House Castle in Scotland where the Kennedy family moved to from their previous residence’Culzean Castle’ which they had handed to the Scottish national trust in 1946, Reckless underwent a more recent restoration a few years ago by Jan Rusling to include conservation of his original bow & replacement ears. He was repainted to a more authentic pattern of his period & given a beautiful horsehair mane & tail. His old saddlery & components that he came with from Cassilli house have been kept safe and will come with him to his new owner, as is all part of his history. Being the very old horse that he is (approx Circa 1830 – 1860) his bow rocks with a wobble and he has age related / wood movement cracks including around where his legs meet his body hence he has some areas of paint loss. This is all part & parcel of how wood reacts to its environment & also in reckless’s case his age. This has not been an issue to his appreciative collector as he is considered retired and has been appreciated purely as an interior piece of beauty, uniqueness & British history. His new owner will need to be understanding & appreciate that this is his nature. If you want absolute perfection he is not for you! He stands approx 47/48 high his bow length will be added.
