Rare Early Tunbridge Ware Campaign Mirror Print Paint Royal Pavillion Brighton
A early Tunbridge ware Campaign style Mirror, with a push fit cover. It is decorated with a hand painted faux rosewood and dash border around a hand coloured print of the Royal Pavillion Brighton. It was made using a lathe and includes a turned moulded border, which helps with hand grip when removing the top from its base. It has a replacement brass loop ring for holding or wall hanging and measures approx 4 7/8″ or 12.5 cm wide x 7/8″ or 23 mm deep. It dates to the Georgian/Regency period and has a good aged patina. Very Rare Double Military Or Campaign Chest Of Drawers Early 19th century. An extremely rare early 19th Century Double Military or Campaign Chest of Drawers. Made from Mahogany which a lovely faded colour. All the drawers run smoothly and fitted with original Brass military handles. The original locks stamped Tucker and Reeves, London and makers to the board of ordnance. We have given it a good clean and wax and it has a lovely patina, in excellent condition for the home. The galleried top has bamboo design carving to the edges and is further ornately carved with flowers, leaves, etc. The polished centre of the tray is inscribed “Anita October 29th 1913 Srinagar” Supported on an’X’ shaped foldable base. A very rare early silver folding campaign fork. It is unmarked but tests as high grade silver. I do not know where it was made but would think Northern Europe – France, Belgium, Holland. It has been superbly handmade having a hinged joint allowing the fork to fold out and lock. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs and works perfectly. It measures almost 6.5 inches (16.2cms) long fully open by 0.75 inch (1.9cms) wide and weights 33 grams. A very interesting and rare piece. The bottom three drawers are working drawers. With original book keep on top. This looks as though it may have had fabric or similar around originally. This is a fantastic rare piece of campaign furniture. It is in lovely original condition with stunning colour and patination.
