This is a rare pair of antique bisque porcelain cherub angel holding urn candlestick holders. The unit type is a unit, with a country/region of origin in Occupied Japan. The color is multi-color with original and authentic Victorian style. The material used is bisque porcelain, with a maker of Ardalt. It is a great addition to any antique collection, perfect for home decor, or a thoughtful gift for antique lovers. They have a fantastic details. All trimmed out in gold. The urns hold a taper candle and also be used for a faux plant. They are great mantle pieces or accent pieces for any room. The cherubs have a soft look to the faces, hair and eyes. The dimensions are about 16 X 5.5 X 4.5. One statue has a couple of tiny chips. One is on the front flower another one is on the bottom and the last one is on the bottom of the urn rim. This is one of my most precious little cabinet sized dolls. She stands about 11 1/2 inches tall marked on the back of her head 277. She is a rare early Bahr Proschild doll made in Germany. Her chocolate brown bisque socket head is free from chips, cracks or hairlines… She does have some wig pulls, please see photo. Composition body in nice condition with expected age related wear, strung well and holds a pose. She has a replacement dark aubergine color curly mohair wig which is so sassy cute on her along with 2 antique pins pulling back her thick mane of curls. She has an innocent doe-eyed look with her large stationary spiral amber glass eyes. Original painted coral lip color, pretty little porcelain teeth and pierced ears with vintage faux pearl earrings. Dressed in a vintage lavender and lace silk blend dress w/ purple bow, original chemise, antique stockings and shoes giving her a sweet coordinated look. Clothing has age soiling. Sings in the most lovely cat voice. I call it “The Parlor Perfomance” – think Jane Austen’s “Emma”. And the importance of the Victorian parlor as a place to. Show off one’s musical talents… The young lady wears a ruffled day cap trimmed with blue. Bow, an Empire-style pale yellow dress with a giant bow. To the back, plunging square neckline and high waist. Pouf sleeves and long gloves, matching silk shoes. This is clearly a Georgian outfit, putting the girl. Even the cross necklace was very in vogue then! A large piece, striking on display at 16 inches tall and heavy. As well, with a closed base, a sign of early sculpting, mid 1800s. Very Rare 1886 to Early 1900’s Antique K & R Simon Halbig German Bisque Doll. The Doll is priced to match dolls of this age and condition. Please make reasonable offer if you would like this rare gem of a doll. This rare doll is out of an estate, and has belonged to the same family since it was made. She is in very good condition considering her age. Her head has no chips, cracks. She has her original wooden body and it is in great condition. The Kämmer & Reinhardt doll company was formed in 1886. By the sculptor Ernst Kammer and the salesman Franz Reinhardt. In Waltershausen, Thüringia, Germany by Ernst Kämmer and Franz Reinhardt. Early K & R dolls were made of wax. K & R bisque doll heads and bodies were designed by them, but most heads were manufactured by Simon & Halbig which is why heads bear both marks. From 1886 to 1909 K & R made only dolly faced dolls with a bisque head on a composition ball jointed or kid body, many with an open mouth and teeth (like this doll). After 1909 they made many types of dolls; bisque, composition or celluloid heads and even cloth costume dolls with wired bodies dressed in various professions. K & R is probably best known for character baby and child dolls. Bisque head on a ball jointed composition. Swivel bisque head with the original cork pate. Working brown glass sleep eyes that still open and close. Her mouth is open with her teeth showing. Mohair Hair with Flowers in them. She is still wearing her original clothing; a beautiful pink long dress with black lace detailing, a white slip. The dress is made by hand and is in very good condition, just missing some buttons. The dress was made well over 100 years ago so there is a tiny bit of damage. This doll is a rare find and would be a perfect addition to a collection, or a perfect holiday gift.
