This is an absolutely beautiful huge signed Hawkes 11 1/2 salad bowl cut in a beautiful pattern on an ultra clear super heavy 9 LB. The hobstar in the center of this bowl really has no equal and is probably the best example of this motif that I have seen. Definitely cut by a master cutter. The clarity, thickness, and weight of this piece is outstanding. In some spots this blank is 5/8 thick. This piece has numerous chips to the teeth and two are pretty serious, but I think it could all be recut and it would be hard to know. The rest looks pretty good with a couple small chips here or there in the pattern. All in all a fantastic piece in need of some restoration. I handle a lot of glass and this is a very nice piece.
