Rare 8 early cinny Steiff bear Ruby

A precious, rare early cinnamon mohair Steiff bear, made without paw pads and measuring 20 cms (8) tall. Missing her earbutton, Ruby is stuffed with woodwool, and this has settled in her right arm, and also her torso, so she’s lovely and saggy. Her shoebutton eyes are original, while her nose and mouth have been re-stitched, and her felt footpads neatly replaced. There’s a little darning around Ruby’s sweet muzzle, and between her eyes, otherwise she’s a lovely sturdy girl. Ruby shows some loss of mohair, and her fur has generally faded over time, but is still a reasonable colour. Her joints work fine and, overall, she’s a captivating little character, wearing her antique lace-trimmed cotton dress with an old handmade velvet shawl, pinned with a vintage’brooch’ – it’s actually an earring!
